Sean St Ledger

Huddersfield Town fan in peace.

Sean has by all accounts been training with us & is likely to sign. I know he's not exactly a complete unknown, not least with his record at international level - but is there anything about him you can tell us? Strengths, weaknesses. Is he still good enough for a side in lower-mid championship?

I've always rated him. From what goes on behind the scenes it seems like he may be more interested in his image and US Sports than furthering his career at times, but a very capabale player at this level.

He offered literally nothing during his entire spell at the club. He has some talent, undoubtedly, but he's a bit of a big-time charlie who has let the money go to his head. Was injured more or less all of the time he was here too, and spent most of his time off drinking and gambling if his social media accounts are to be believed.

If he finally wants to get his head down and play football regularly then you might have a decent player on your hands, but if he's anything like he was for Leicester, then he really won't be worth it.

There'll be a few regulars on this message board who'll tell you he was our best player and that he was cruelly overlooked by Pearson (I'm looking at you, CuddlyKen), but don't believe a word of it. His time here was a terrible move for all parties involved.

Sean will be a great signing for you I would think. Calm on the ball, good in the air, and can read the game well. This is just my personal opinion so i'm not sure if i'm right or wrong tbh but just generally a very good defender.

More than capable of playing in the Championship IMO, if you can keep him fit! Seemed like he was popular with the rest of the squad and on his day is definitely a quality, versatile defender but he is horrendously unlucky with injuries. All the best for the season, got a solid player on your hands if you can keep him fit!

I think he's piss poor and a total plonker to boot.

If you wanna see what he's like, see Boro's goal against us last year on opening day. Like a cream puff when Jukebox got near him.

His best game was against Ince and Phillips from Blackpool about 18 months ago playing right back and he could only manage 60 mins.

With James Vaughan & Joel Lynch already in the squad, maybe we'll have to employ another physio!

Is it one recurrent injury, or just been unlucky with a series of unrelated ones?

His attitude off the pitch may not be the best but to say he offered nothing the entire time he was here? Incredibly harsh and outright incorrect.

Is it? I don't think so. I'd love to hear what you think he brought to the team, or how he justified the considerable outlay in both transfer fees and wages? The only times I can remember him ever making an impact on a game was when he made mistakes and gifted chances to the opposition.

Once he was out of the team through injury he was never even remotely missed. Doesn't sound like a player who made his mark at the club to me.

Injury prone, had his good spells for us & some bad one's.

He looked pretty good alongside Wes Morgan, before he got injured, but I can remember West Ham away a couple season's ago and Sam Baldock tore him to shreds that day.

He could become decent if he regains full fitness.

He's ok, good distrubition but poor in the air. He will be a decent signing for you for the 5 games he will probably manage before he gets another mysterious injury and is off boozing.

That's not what's being asked by the Huddersfield fan, what does he care about that? He didn't justify it, he wasn't a success for us but to say he 'literally offered absolutely nothing' is just hyperbolic and incorrect. His question is 'is he good enough for a low-mid championship side?' - if fit, he clearly is, your seeming bitterness towards him doesn't change that.

As for the second highlighted bit, again, what does a Huddersfield fan care about that? With all due respect to the club we are a bigger club and have a much stronger squad and it's a completely different scenario.

What are Huddersfields aspirations this season? I know that are building under Mark Robins but are you seriously looking to challenge top 6. If you are just looking to stay mid table SSL is good enough.

I've just had a look and I'm shocked that he played 36 games for us in 3 years, in surprised it was so many.

Spent most of his time on the injury table and if he wasn't on there he was out someone partying & boozing.

he has played top level Internation games for many years so therefore he is more than capable at Chanpionship League Level. IMO was unlucky with the timing of some of his injuries, he was close to becoming a regular in the team As mentioned previously if he can avoid injuries you have a decent player

not that good really.

bit of a pussy when facing a big striker and he got outpaced by matty fryatt so that tells you all you need to know about how he'd ever handle a speedy striker.

ok distribution for a championship centre half, played maybe one genuinely good game a season for us, forgot he even existed.
