Sean St Ledger

Had a amazing debut against Bristol City at home under Sven. Looked completely out his depth and then at 1-1 Slipped over and they won 2-1. Norwich in the F.A Cup he played a blinder and was solid as owt.

Very hit and miss.

The games under Sven where we always used to concede two or three generally seemed to coincide with him being in the side. This article written back then illustrates the point to a degree:

That point also illustrates that Bamba and Mills are both better than Morgan. It's a well thought out article but one that doesn't paint the truth.

At time of writing, Morgan was an overweight dud. That summer/pre season he came back a stone and half lighter and he's been so much better.

St Ledger was a pretty disastrous signing. You only have to follow him on twitter to know he clearly prefers alcohol, partying, music and women to his day job.

Always injured, and if ever fit- poor in the air, average in distribution and not very physically strong. At fault for plenty of goals during his scarce first team performances.

For a team harbouring a top 10 finish in the Championship with an outside shot at the play-offs then he's a decent signing, if he can stay fit which has been his problem for the whole time he was with us. Loves going out on the piss a lot which is fine if you perform at your job and his injuries and poor fitness could be related to his lifestyle as well. His missus is unreal.

Not anymore, he got dumped on twitter or something along those lines.

Huddersfield Town fan in peace.

Sean has by all accounts been training with us & is likely to sign. I know he's not exactly a complete unknown, not least with his record at international level - but is there anything about him you can tell us? Strengths, weaknesses. Is he still good enough for a side in lower-mid championship?

Not sure why people are saying he's a good player when fit, he's completely average.

Really isn't very good, even when fit (which is a novelty in itself). Hugely inconsistent whenever he does get a run out, too. Unless he's taking a steady drop in wages or signing on a pay-as-you-play basis I think you'd be better off steering clear because there's just no value in him. Spent more time on the lash than on the pitch with us. I'd have said he could've probably scraped into a side scrapping it at the bottom of the Champ but the truth is he hasn't played in so long nobody can even be certain that's his level anymore.

Has been unlucky with injuries but in spite of that, he was never one of our standout players. Most teams in the Championship would jump at the chance of signing him on a free.

The fact none have as yet rather undermines your point

So why's he still looking for a club then, and the only team that seem interested in him is a lower half championship team?

Maybe not all clubs want him but what I mean is he would be a good signing for a Championship team if he can rediscover the form he had at Preston.

Can't believe a lot of what I reading here.

He is bang average tbh the vast majority of the time, a classic Sven signing, overpaid, a bad attitude and not up to the standard that was required. Add to that he can't seem to stay fit, can't stay out of nightclubs and posting on Instagram and you've got the full package of the modern day celebrity 'footballer' who you raraely see on the pitch.

You have no chance of a settled back four if you are relying on him.

A fully fit, focused and playing regularly Sean has the potential to be your best defender. Some managers( like Pearson) expect players to toe the line off the pitch and in their own time( I.e no piss ups, ect). When you don't, you don't get game time. So when you do, it makes you look worse then you actually are- no one likes to see a not match fit defender thrown in at the deep end.

Other managers feel like a bit of 'socializing ' is a stress reliever and can help. If your manager is the latter, AND gives him game time then you'll be pleased with the acquisition.

And still people defend him, like how people defended Beckford to the death.

Strikes me as utterly unprofessional in his lifestyle and the amount of injuries he has I doubt they are coincidence.
