foxfanazer Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Am I the only one genuinely not excited by this!? Is he that good? Fecking hope so for them wages. No there's two of you
sylofox Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Too bad they can all see your spelling Hmmmmmmm yes lol
Babylon Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Am I the only one genuinely not excited by this!? Is he that good? Fecking hope so for them wages. He's a DM, anyone expecting Ronaldo will be bitterly disappointed. He'll have a wealth of experience, protect the back four and get things moving forward. There are zero guarantees with any signing, especially older players. But he has pedigree. Pearson has signed quite a few players deemed "past it" and they have almost always contributed really well.
MGLCFC Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Am I the only one genuinely not excited by this!? Is he that good? Fecking hope so for them wages. I think other players may well accept that a player who has played for two of the top clubs in the world, as well as amassing 50 caps for a top country will have the capacity to command a higher wage. It's not just his footballing ability we are paying for, but what he can add in knowledge to our young midfielders and the pulling power it may have in future transfers. It's showing the club wants to go places.

I don't get out much. I do have faith in Pearson. st albans fox Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Am I the only one genuinely not excited by this!? Is he that good? Fecking hope so for them wages. 50k per week inc signing on fee (perhaps even less). i doubt too many players will have an issue with that, they all know that to run down their contract gives them a big lump upfront. (ooh matron)
Guest Bilo Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 He's at the stage of his career where he might be looking for a place to begin coaching. The fact that Chris Powell and Kevin Phillips both got coaching gigs after winding down their playing careers here, as well as the apparent kind words we received from Mourinho, may have swung it. A year or two of playing followed by the chance to get his coaching badges at a Premier League club that has a track record in managing the transition from player to coach isn't one he's likely to turn down hastily.

AKCJ Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/96413-esteban-cambiasso/?p=3093542 Oh nice one I think it says a lot that Mourinho has joined Alex Ferguson in the Nigel Pearson fan club. He's the best thing to happen to our club since MO'N, but I think he'll outstrip him. He's going to be a proper legend at this club.
HitchinFox Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Am I the only one genuinely not excited by this!? Is he that good? Fecking hope so for them wages. Just hope this won't come back to haunt me – as somebody who follows Inter actively, I can assure you that he was immense for the club from the moment he arrived up until the last game of the 13-14 season. You don't get to be the second name (after Zanetti) on the teamsheet for 10 years at one of Europe's most successful clubs unless you are the best in what you do.
Guest Bilo Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Cambiasso's signing will generate such a buzz round the club. Here is a genuinely world class DM, albeit one in the latter stages of his career. In all honesty, I can see this being such a statement of intent that it will give us an edge in future signing negotiations.
Super hoop Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 I did say yesterday not to stress about us coming in for him. It was only paper talk. Will be interesting to see how he goes.
Danno Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Shall I start making the Chelsea-Leicester alliance pin badges?

Guest Bilo Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Shall I start making the Chelsea-Leicester alliance pin badges? See how may you shift on Bentley's Roof.
sylofox Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Shall I start making the Chelsea-Leicester alliance pin badges? Just make the one for yourself. Don't see you selling many here and none in chelski.
Robin JD Popley Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Never ceases to amaze me how other clubs fans (on the whole) slate players like this if they sign for anyone like us, but given half the chance, they'd also sign them.... And I thought we were fickle!
