**** me the besiktas fans are loud!

Bet the Besiktas players get fed up of all the whistling whenever the opposition have the ball.

I'm getting pissed off with it just listening to them.

who in a team discussion threw out the suggestion of letting lovren take the decisive kick hahaha. glad they lost itv's istanbul comparison was getting ridiculously unbearable, if they'd have won on pens it would've just been too much

The bottom clubs in the Premier would smash their counterparts though.

I can say that as it can't be proven wrong.

Proper centre half smash the penalty way over the bar technique from Lovren.

When I was 6 I thought a 'defender' was someone who hit it over the bar. Possibly cemented by Waddle at Italia 90.

...everton? not even smashing through other leagues bottom half clubs, smashing through other leagues top clubs.

which league is that?

everton in europe this season have battered lille (yesterday i was told the french league was stronger than ours because monaco won at arsenal), wolfsburg (miles clear of third in germany, the best league in the world © ) & are now battering a team from the swiss league which is shit for sure, but i bet when basel beat liverpool some dicksplash on here probably claimed it was better than the prem as well.

edit - all of this whilst being in a relegation battle in the premier league, which is of course the worst league in europe by some distance let's not forget.

gutted i didn't watch feyenoord/roma. two reds for feyenoord, one for a fella not on the pitch, a 20 minute suspension for trouble (racism towards gervinho according to some on twitter?), and gervinho just put roma 2-1 in front. sounds nuts.

Pure conjecture on the racism front. Feyenoord fans have had inflatable bananas for years - copied it from Man City in the 80s. Whether they use them for racist reasons I'm not sure but I know they haven't got the cleanest rep.

They haven't behaved particularly well though. Missiles on the pitch at every opportunity.

Spurs are just a waste of a europe spot

Had the feeling they think they are too big for this competition after their Champions League run.

yeah i saw some pictures of their usual "bananas displays", hence the question mark cos i haven't seen the incident but some are saying they were purposefully thrown at gervinho which is a bit suspect.

I was watching and didn't see any evidence of when the inflatable was thrown. Saw Gerv say something to the home support and the next thing you see is the 4th official picking the banana up. Not saying it didn't happen but it's a dangerous game for BT to immediately start calling racism because they've seen a banana and a black man.

yeah like i said i didn't see it but it seems like a lot are putting two and two together and drawing their own conclusions etc. does seem a bit dodgy just looking at the incident as an outsider but as you say their "bananas" have a history and the like so there might be nothing in it at all.

we'll see what uefa do, sure their fans will be in trouble either way.
