I always find it amazing that City fans of all people are so quick to denigrate competitions or fixtures that don't feature any big names. Are we all so obsessed with the 'product' now? Some of the best games and atmospheres I've experienced have been in the UEFA Cup / Europa League.

What? A competition that offers some rather unknown or unfortunate teams to compete with others on a European level, aiming to win a trophy in the process?

 

I take it winning the League Cup meant nothing to you, as Leicester were only playing some C-grade minnows called Atlético Madrid.

 

Man, I'd love to see Leicester in the Europa League. More exposure, more fans, more chances for players to shine and there's also the chance of crazy, utterly entertaining games.

I wouldn't be that dismissive of such an opportunity.

Interesting to note the winners of the Europa League will get a spot in the Champions League qualifiers next year!

 

Good decision that! Makes sense that the winners should have the chance to move up to the top European competition! I'd expect teams will prioritise it slightly more now! Although its still alot of games to get through!

Good decision to give the winner a CL place. The English clubs might take it, and therefore the League Cup, a little more seriously than they perhaps did.

 

Now just need to bin the CL losers dropping into it and we're on to a winner.

the champions league is 15 games if you have a qualifier, not exactly a major deal more. obviously the champions league actually matters like haha. 

 

tough group for everton, lille and wolfsburg are both tidy sides and krasnador is fu cking impossible to get to and that, a classic europa league game right there.
