Bert Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 Shane Long signed for Southampton two days after being linked. It's taken probably a good 3 weeks now regarding Cambiasso, while if this move has really broken down, supposedly because we don't want to pay a fee WTF are we playing at. We paid £8 million for Ulloa, yet don't want to pay £800k maybe for Fanni It's probably got nothing to do with his transfer fee....
MGLCFC Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 It's probably got nothing to do with his transfer fee.... More to do with Cambiasso and including Alvarez in the deal??

We paid £8 million for Ulloa, yet don't want to pay £800k maybe for Fanni Ulloa signed within a couple of days of us agreeing a fee and him getting back from their friendly in Europe. Fanni is on a free transfer, it's obviously wages or something else that's a problem. Free transfers expect big bunce.
mozartfox Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 At 32 years of age, unless you are World Class, you may have to accept what's on offer as your choices may not be the greatest anymore. He can bugger off. Next rumor please.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 We just have to sit down and wait. Whatever will be, will be, geezers.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 It seems we're the only club which takes an eternity to bring people in. No wonder Nigel doesn't get many duds as he seems to analyse them long enough!! We need to act quickly if we're without Drinky and James for a while too....
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 Shock horror, at least give this a chance. There's plenty of legit reasons why he could have returned HOME
kingfox Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 It's probably got nothing to do with his transfer fee.... Wages? Alvarez? Let's soften Cambiasso up by getting his mate in, heard it all now.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 I guess he wouldn't agree to change his surname. to Twinkle-Cave
Burmesefox Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 Apparently he read this thread and was disgusted at you lot taking his name in vain.......or perhaps that should be vein?
MGLCFC Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 Wages? Alvarez? Let's soften Cambiasso up by getting his mate in, heard it all now. Perhaps Cambiasso suggested Alvarez as a better option when we were looking at Fanni?
kingfox Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 Perhaps Cambiasso suggested Alvarez as a better option when we were looking at Fanni? A guy who happens to be Argentinian, available on a free transfer who was part of a Catania side who was relegated from Serie A, over a defender who is part of one of the most established teams in France, has five international caps to his name, and is just as experienced
Bert Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 More to do with Cambiasso and including Alvarez in the deal??I genuinely don't know anything about that.... Read the reports "couldn't agree terms".
MGLCFC Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 A guy who happens to be Argentinian, available on a free transfer who was part of a Catania side who was relegated from Serie A, over a defender who is part of one of the most established teams in France, has five international caps to his name, and is just as experienced If he's that good, then I'd have thought he'd have no problem finding a new club. It's not as though he's in Cambiasso's league and wants a final project to have a go at.

It's not as though he's in Cambiasso's league and wants a final project to have a go at. This Alvarez guy was mainly on the bench towards the end of last season, or not even in their squad at all. I'm just baffled that we are turning down an experienced player who has international caps, for a guy who was recommended & was part of a side which got relegated from Serie A(Italian League being pretty shit nowadays)

Maybe he wanted first team football regularly guaranteed, wage demands, signing on fee etc.
johnny the fox Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 Sounds like my mrs. Fanni is too demanding.. story of my life.
roblcfc84 Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 In all fairness they probably watched him train and thought he was gash...
weller54 Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 Sounds like my mrs. Fanni is too demanding.. story of my life. Yep!.. Fanni 's never stop dripping!!

We signed Jamie Vardy from non league. Look at him now. We're turning down Fanni because of wages it seems, not because of his playing ability.

How come he was dropped to their bench for the latter part of last season? How are we going to attract these names if we don't match their wage demands, that's probably why Cambiasso is taking so long.
