jayfox26 Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 If we only had 5 transfer targets then we need to ask some serious questions!!!! the ones I've mentioned are the main ones we all know about. I'm sure we have had other targets but that doesn't change the opinions I have put forward in my post!
BigMicky Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 the reason all the transfers have taken soo long is because of players agents. Pearson hates them. and to be honest I don't blame him there complete scum. I completely agree with what pearson has sad that at times he does not no at times if the player represents the agents or the agents represent the players. they never have the players interest at heart and are just money grabbing scum bags. if agents were banned in football the world would be a better place and transfers would be a lot quicker and players wages would be a lot less as they would not be as greedy as they would just want to play football and this would stop a lot of team struggling to survive. That's garbage, how the hell would a 19 year old kid know what he is worth in monetory terms? The need for agents is to ensure their client gets the best deal possible. Its a two way street.

I agree: and yet from next year, FIFA are planning to complete de-regulate the football agents business. At the moment, they are supposed to take an exam to become licensed - from next year, you could become one. Beggars belief.

How would they know what to ask for/ expect? Do you file your own tax returns or would you get an accountant to do it for you?
Raj Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 silly question....but why didnt we strengthen in March april when we knew we were ginna be promoted??? now we are buying over the hill arguis and blokes famous for shagging so called tv celebs

Assume we did the business on upson, albrighton and hamer before the end of last season. What happened in June and July is what we should be asking.

Bettsj2 Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 Looks like we used JM to get the EC deal over the line. It appears we knew the rules but have now learnt how to play the game.
6ups 6downs 2 cups Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 It looks as though it's been a big learning curve for everyone, us as fans included! I'm sure we have made mistakes, hopefully lessons learnt. If we think this was a tough window, wait till January, especially if we are in the bottom three! If you look at all the other PL clubs not too many have had an easy time, and with us being new and having to get a foothold, be,thankful that Pearson, as he has said, has been building a PL squad for a couple of years. And we still have 3 more days of this bedlam!
Haydos Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 silly question....but why didnt we strengthen in March april when we knew we were ginna be promoted??? now we are buying over the hill arguis and blokes famous for shagging so called tv celebs So many reasons. 1) Players contracts not at an end yet....don't know who'll be renewing or who will be available. 2) Teams not sure of their placing yet. Europe/promotion/relegation. 3) Our own contracts weren't tied up....weren't aware of what positions we'd need to strengthen. 4) World Cup - A lot of players away training and playing so harder to arrange things from both sides. 5) World Cup - Clubs hanging onto players hoping for good performances and their value to increase. See James Rodriguez. 6) All clubs want to bring in players before they release others. This means that most available at that time would be unwanted. That's just a few that I came up with in 5 mins, I'm sure there's more.
car1os Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 So we have Cambiasso, Ulloa, Albrighton, Upson, and Hamer as regulars in the squad, with probably a couple more incoming. And we retained all but Dyer, most on new contracts. Not sure I would call this a failed window. For a failed window look at Palace, Burnley, West Brom, Villa, Southhampton, etc. Not even sure QPR can claim more success, really. Couple more days to go... Not only that but when Upson's fit he'll be like getting a new player midway between windows. Think we've done pretty well as more players could have left in the summer, leaving Nige and his team more gaps to fill and potentially more "panic buys". Think we just need one more defender now for certain, and any others will be a bonus. Any gaps remaining after the window can be filled by GTF.

Plus, a month ago we looked fairly well-stocked in CM... If James and Drinky were fit we might not even have bothered with Cambiasso. Simpson has only just become available. Plus I reckon Pearson wanted to see which of his players made the step up before deciding where to strengthen. RDL's performance against Chelsea probably convinced Pearson that we needed another option in that position.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 Leicester try and conduct their transfer dealings in private. Some fans moan when they don't hear anything as they believe the club aren't doing anything. The person/people who do the negotiations are very good at their jobs.

Pearson has made it very clear that he likes to do things under the radar, so it should be no surprise that we don't hear much.
Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 Whatever Geoff says (mrrandomsilly) says, he's not going to slag off his contact - terry robinson. I assume he is one who told you mcarthur wasn't at the training ground, which has now been proved a lie - he was there and had a medical, hence why he said goodbye to everyone at Wigan. Robinson is disliked heavily at the club, is part of the reason dyer left and has overseen great transfers like bakayogo and gtf. He wasn't heavily involved with wasyl or Hammond. He has a fairly chequered past robinson- he forced pulis out at Stoke and left in bizarre circumstances. He's the problem.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 It would seem apparent, after what has happened with McArthur, that the problem with our transfer policy is that we don't take crap from clubs selling over-priced players. Which I think can only be a good thing.

Makes no sense.
