ktfox59 Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Warnock only appointed yesterday. Spoken to and signed Zaha on season long loan. People and clubs can get these deals done. Just not us it seems....and burnley before anyone corrects me.

LeicesterAreGoingUp Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Zaha to Crystal Palace was a rumor that had been going all summer long. And the reason Pulis went apprently. Parish wabted to bring him back but Pulis didn't
Fox Ulike Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Surely Pearson is aware that in the Premiership, decent signings will be at inflated cost? This has been going on for years, and it wont stop. To bring the right players, of the right quality, to this club, then we will HAVE to pay inflated prices to compete in the top league. It's a fact of football life. If we continue to lose out on quality, then I am afraid we are f----d. I feel that we have missed the boat, as the deadline is almost upon us, and we have only ourselves to blame. What boat?? Before last season ended Pearson said “We don’t need to make big changes” In the Summer Pearson said “I have faith my current players can make the step up”. A couple of weeks ago Pearson said “We’ll only bring in players who are right for the club”. The only boat you have missed is the ‘not listening boat’. If we’d been out-classed first two games I could understand a bit of girly panic. But we’ve done well, and still have our best 3 players to come back into the team (Vardy, James, Drinkwater). QPR haven’t missed out on what you would call “quality”- and they do look right royally “f____d” already. Chillax.
mozartfox Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 The scouting policy may need an over-haul looking at the few irons we 'appear' to have in the fire. This mess is probably as a result of numerous factors, most of which we will never know. I think we will be going with what we got now as every 'supposed' deal appears to be cursed.

Hahahaha that's right, sack the whole previously successful scouting network. Bright spark.
mozartfox Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Hahahaha that's right, sack the whole previously successful scouting network. Bright spark. Well there success since we won promotion is not exactly evident thus far, so as I said may it needs to be looked at. Clever dick.

PAPA LAZAROU Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 I think we have made the transition from the Championship to the Prem easily last season but our thinking is still in that mode of we are good enough. Trouble is we still have that small club mentality and our dealings in the transfer market accurately point that out. Most city fans knew we had to supplement the team with some quality , not go over board like Q.P.R or like the Sven disaster but certainly enough to give us a fighting chance to stay up. This has not happened as yet. But there is still time and after last season only a fool would ignore what Pearson and his staff and team have achieved. So despite my misgivings I still have some faith.
mozartfox Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 All this after 2 league games since promotion 2 league games and how many months? Best part of 4 if I am not mistaken.
Thracian Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 At last. A poster who sees where the real problems are lying. Its not about chucking money at everything, but also its knowing when to move on. Nige did that pretty quickly with Fanni, Frazier etc but this damn Cambiasso deal just keeps dragging on and on. And why. TR is working for Top not nige. Its clear the money men want EC and it appears nothing else will get done till EC makes his mind up. Nige is having to just get on with it and tbh is fast going to be the fall guy. Love to be wrong though. It's started to look like that and meanwhile the opportunities are disappearing. Yes, there are a few days left but we're well exposed if our targets turn their thumbs downwards and who would blame them after the Shrewsbury debacle. Fringe of the Premiership relegation zone, knocked out of the League Cup with barely a whimper and so many prospective players seemingly disinterested - it's hardly the greatest advert. The time to have secured a marquee signing was weeks ago when we could perhaps have built on the impetus.

We've had our target in mind for most of the summer - if we get him the who cares how long it took? I see the Shrewsbury result and performance takes precedence over good performances against Everton and Chelsea. Guess it supports your gloomy outlook better.
Bamba's Babes Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 This transfer is not what ANY of us expected. It's not gone how the club has preached it would and how it has done in the past. It's been a c0ck up.
lcfcbobby Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 the reason all the transfers have taken soo long is because of players agents. Pearson hates them. and to be honest I don't blame him there complete scum. I completely agree with what pearson has sad that at times he does not no at times if the player represents the agents or the agents represent the players. they never have the players interest at heart and are just money grabbing scum bags. if agents were banned in football the world would be a better place and transfers would be a lot quicker and players wages would be a lot less as they would not be as greedy as they would just want to play football and this would stop a lot of team struggling to survive.

Everything you have said is correct. But at the end of the day agents do exist, every player has one and all clubs have to deal with them. The closer we get to the closing of the window agents will know that we are desperate to get a couple of players in.

Babylon Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Well there success since we won promotion is not exactly evident thus far, so as I said may it needs to be looked at. Clever dick. How so you know it needs looking at, the scouting network picks decent players, they don't negotiate them.People have no idea what's stopping the deals. It could be that like any right minded club we want to insert relegation clauses, something agents don't want. Trying to safeguard the clubs financial future could be the route cause for all we know. Would you be so against that?
Tielemans63 Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Surely the time to discuss this is after the window has shut? Whilst it does look unlikely, it may yet prove to be a successful transfer window.
Mike Oxlong Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 The way things have been going I'd be over the fookin moon if we could sign a new tea lady.
wattolcfc Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 I think deadline day could be interesting now, who wouldn't want to play with the footballing great that goes by the name of Esteban???
fuchsntf Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 The way things have been going I'd be over the fookin moon if we could sign a new tea lady. They tried but after agreeing a fee, her agent came back saying it just wasnt to her taste, and she preffered putting milk in first Pearson was reported to be very upset saying this is getting potty.with wrong people getting involved in the mix, and brewing up only infusion, things have become strained and contacts to agents were now lukewarm, and its the 3rd time the wheel has fell off the trolley while discusions were still going on, but its a storm in a teacup, becausecsomething else is brewing.
BoyJones Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 Good to see at least one fan, fuchsntf, has a good sense of humour. Can't believe the amount of negative comments about NP and his efforts to get in new players. Nobody outside the club knows the problems / politics involved. I'd rather have a facial from a leper than trust a journalist! Just keep the faith, NP deserves some trust. The input from the ITK's and journo's can be taken with a pinch of salt. All they do is wind up true supporters with their teasing comments.
Guest Posted 28 August 2014 Posted 28 August 2014 2 league games and how many months? Best part of 4 if I am not mistaken. Right, so we've established a timeline. Now we just need to establish if it was Professor Plum in the library with a candlestick.

Mark_from_USA Posted 29 August 2014 Posted 29 August 2014 So we have Cambiasso, Ulloa, Albrighton, Upson, and Hamer as regulars in the squad, with probably a couple more incoming. And we retained all but Dyer, most on new contracts. Not sure I would call this a failed window. For a failed window look at Palace, Burnley, West Brom, Villa, Southhampton, etc. Not even sure QPR can claim more success, really. Couple more days to go...
