bovril Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 Tannehill and the 'fins having a tough time so far in Detroit.
Itsthejoeker Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 Roy just wishes he could sell out Wembley every game.
EastAnglianFox Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 Hi all, apologies if this is off track but due to work commitments could be spending a bit more time in the States and have been looking to get behind a team but have no real idea of who to support as am only just getting into American sport. Would like to avoid the big favourites I guess, but would like to follow somebody a bit like us in terms of history, size, achievements etc Any help much appreciated! Cheers all.

Play in blue and lost four finals.
buzzy Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 Do people seriously enjoy watching this? I just turned over to channel 4 and watched about 2 minutes and in that time it must have stopped at least 7 times. why are you on this thread thisi s for fans of nfl so trott off
Bayfox Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 Next years Wembley games announced: Dolphins v Jets Bills v Jags Lions v Chiefs. Will get tickets for Lions/Chiefs. Hopefully Johnson will play this time and then you've got Jamaal Charles as well. hopefully I can get a phins ticket this time. but seems they are very popular over here. maybe down to the cheerleaders mind. best thing on Twitter. on a side note tho. this is why a uk franchise will never succeed in this country for at least a generation. uk fans all have teams already.
General Smuts Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 Urgh. I didn't even bother watching it after I saw the score. I've taped it but I just know we were shit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I think it was more down to the fact that we were just awesome. Rodgers had 18 completions and 6 of them were for TDs. You're just lucky that they took him and the rest of the main guys off shortly after the start of the third or it could have been seriously embarrassing!
EastAnglianFox Posted 11 November 2014 Posted 11 November 2014 Bills? Play in blue and lost four finals. That's a really good call...Cheers mate! Nice to see it seems they play in a proper stadium too, not one of the flat pack new generation grounds that seem to be everywhere

EastAnglianFox Posted 11 November 2014 Posted 11 November 2014 Where in the States are you working? Over the next 18 months it will be 5 weeks each in Virginia, San Fran, Houston and Seattle.
Nalis Posted 11 November 2014 Posted 11 November 2014 Maybe go for the Texans, Seahawks or 49ers then. Might get you invested in the area/city of a team you'll be following.

I did think of the 49ers in all honesty but so many people back home near me follow them it felt like I was just jumping on the bandwagon. The Seahawks could be a great team to follow as if I have to permanently relocate it's looking like it could be Seattle Thanks for the sound advice!

Seattle have crazy loud fans, a brutal defence and Marshawn Lynch is awesome to watch. It may be glory supporting at the minute but it'd be a good choice.

If you want your hope crushed like a little kitty in the hands of a madman, Go for the Carolina Panthers. Its great having them as my local team.
James. Posted 13 November 2014 Posted 13 November 2014 Right then, I went to Wembley on Sunday and reckon I could grow to really like NFL. Never really given it much attention before but Sunday was great fun even though it probably wasn't the best game. I also love numbers and cheerleaders and this seems to have both in large quantities. So can anyone give me a run down of the basics of following NFL - i.e. where can I watch games, what time are they usually on, what are the best online resources? I have the NFL app and the Game Pass app (not signed up yet though) if they help?

I have the NFL app and the Game Pass app (not signed up yet though) if they help? Most of the games are played Sunday. But there's a game Thursday night/ Friday morning that starts at 1:30. Sunday you have most games start at 6 and then a few that start at 9/9:30. All of these games can be seen on sky sports. Then 1:30 Sunday night/ Monday morning there's another game which is shown on channel 4. The last game of the week is Monday night/ Tuesday morning. Again at 1:30 shown on British eurosport 2. Channel 4 do a highlights show on a Monday night in between 11&12. That's about as much as I can help you with.

Basically if you have a good sports package it's everywhere. The replays on sky are great, extended highlights that cut out all the adverts and breaks and just give you the bits you need to see.
Lamby Posted 16 November 2014 Posted 16 November 2014 Decent start from the Cards so far, all I can say to that pick is ffs Drew, what the **** were you thinking?
syston_fox Posted 16 November 2014 Posted 16 November 2014 Packers looking awful good... Keep playing like we have in the last two weeks and will be difficult to stop us. Think that Lacy TD has just pushed us over 100 pts from the last two games
