The problem is we need an outlet when we've got so little possession and today he might as well not be there. Bringing on Vardy would make a difference to the way we are playing IMO. Nugent is just not an option when we're in possession at the moment.

All the balls we are playing are with our players backs to the Stoke goal, very little into channels or into space. We're not supporting the strikers and launching speculative balls way to early. Even with Vardy up top I don't think he'd have made any difference to our performance based on the poor supply and the lack of support.

 

It's not like Stoke's back line are pushing up high and we can play in behind them. They are actually sitting back quite a bit to counter any breaks / pace we have and it's nullifying what our normal out is when we're not controlling play.
