Oxfordfox83 Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 I wouldn't put him in a world 25 Sqaud Doubt many people would put him in a PL 25 at the moment, in common with most people asserting he's been off form for months. I certainly wouldn't. Doesn't change the fact that people saying "he's shite and always has been" are talking out of the wrong end.
Freesolo Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 There is no way he has always been Shite he has had great seasons and sored some spectacular goals in the past, but i don't have a clue why he is the United/England Captain by making someone your captain it makes them undroppable really, he isn't captain material IMO he throw his toys out the pram too much and isn't a good leader that you would look up to Rooney picking up a knock for united and missing a few games might be a blessing in disguise
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 Certainly, his form has crashed, but he can of course be brilliant.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 Don't think anybody is disputing how good he was, as his record suggests, but at his age he should be at his absolute peak and for whatever reason he just isn't the player he was anymore, not by a long chalk, he's a complete cvnt, but so are a lot of footballers and his level of cvntery is just heightened by the attention, the hype and the term 'world class' thrown at him when he is a million miles away from world class, but that shouldn't and doesn't cloud what he does (or doesn't do anymore) on the pitch. As has been said he wouldn't get near a definitive Premier League squad never mind a world one so to call the bloke world class is just plainly wrong by any definition of the term.
Fox92 Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 Our fourth goal (Vardy), the other player chasing back along with the two centre halves is Rooney. I doubt there is any other striker in the World that would be in that position at the stage.
filbertway Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 It's almost become Cliché to call Rooney overrated now. I think to be overrated he must be highly rated by a decent number of people. According to 90% of the population he should be playing for Darlington in the Northern Premier.

I doubt there is any other striker in the World that would be in that position at the stage. He wasn't playing as a striker anyway more a Attacking Midfielder
Freesolo Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 Is he the highest paid player in the Prem?
Chug Laguna Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 He is, fully 50% more than Yaya and paid as much as Cesc and Costa combined. Great value, that.
Freesolo Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 Thats why he is disliked i think, because he engineered a fake transfer request in order to get more money from United who buckled to his demands. How could you respect a player like him It expires next year so i guess he will be leaving or taking a massive paycut
Stadt Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Thrown in too young so like Gerrard, Owen and others injuries have prevented him from reaching his early promise, for England it just feels like everything has to go through him which makes us boring and predictable so making him captain was the wrong decision.
Freesolo Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Funny how he said wanted to leave because he was being played out of position, well your still being played out of position and your not even in Europe this season and by the look of things next season too, but your happy to stay now picking up your 300k a week for doing **** all and because any club that would take you wold pay you a 1/4 of what your getting now. Nice to know where his heart lies

I'm guessing if a company said to you "do this and we'll pay you £300,000 a week", you would accept it?
Freesolo Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 I'm guessing if a company said to you "do this and we'll pay you £300,000 a week", you would accept it? Not if another company would be paying me £200k a week to do the job i want and have a chance of real success and win some trophies
MattGamble92 Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 So we have established in this thread that people hate Rooney because of his off field antics and this has led to people wanting him to fail, therefore dismissing everything he did on the pitch on Sunday and his superb record for club and country. Alrighty then
Freesolo Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Was a great footballer Starting to peter out Generally a cock on the pitch and off it
MattGamble92 Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Just bagged again. "Starting to Peter out" my arse
Out Foxed Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Just bagged again. "Starting to Peter out" my arse Peter Ndlovu
MC Prussian Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Just bagged again. "Starting to Peter out" my arse ... and then he does that and receives a red card for a stupid tackle on Downing in the same match. I don't know what it is, but something's clearly wrong with Rooney - despite his footballing brilliance.
Stadt Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Rooney hasn't been right mentally for a while, he just doesn't look happy playing anymore.
MPH Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 He can't get used the weight of his new hair. it sets him off balance. That's why he kicked that lad. went for the ball but his hair set him off balance...
Freesolo Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 him getting sent off is a blessing in disguise for uniteds next few games
Guest Col city fan Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 There you go... Surprise surprise.. Apparently harassing the ref until he got sent off. Skipper..meh
Freesolo Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 There you go... Surprise surprise.. Apparently harassing the ref until he got sent off. Skipper..meh have you seen the tackle? he basically karate kicks the guy dont have any idea what he was trying to achieve
lgfualol Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 How awkward will it be if Downing gets called up for England again
