CPW22 Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 I don't understand why he plays in a number 10 role. He's a striker for me, always has been.
Harry - LCFC Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Can't find myself in me to 'hate' the man at all, mildly annoying occasionally but that's it for me. Don't really understand why he's become one of the most hated players in the league. There are plenty out there who are just downright unpleasant on a regular basis whereas he doesn't seem to be.
weller54 Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Hugely overrated. £300,000+ a year Van Persie was the one who walked straight off the pitch without acknowledging anyone. A year??..
VLC86 Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 I don't understand why he plays in a number 10 role. He's a striker for me, always has been. Because Falcao and RVP are better in that position and he's now the captain so undroppable.
Leicesterpool Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Rooney should be questioning his own performance, alot of United fans are really critical of him being captain.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 LVG has said he's untouchable, very poor management IMO
Guest Col city fan Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 How long does this thing about 'Rooney questioning his own performances' go on for.. As far as I can see, he's 'not performed' for ages now! He's never performed for England at a World Cup. Man Utd were well off the pace last season and the 300k per week they are paying him is nowhere near value for money. In fact, it's scandalous.
ScouseFox Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 i've always been a rooney fan and stuck up for him in england and champions league threads etc but today he was absolutely diabolical. mata must be sitting on the bench wondering why the f uck this chimp is getting game time in mata's preferred position with performances as shocking as that. ps it was all down to esteban's magic marking though. shadowed him all game.
Monsell1976 Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 The bloke is over rated massively, was talented as a youngster, but his ego is bigger than his talent. He is a good premiership player, but the way the press go on about him is over the top, he is no where near the top 20 players in the world

Totally agree probably one of the most overrated players England have had. For some reason no manager as the balls to drop him. Rooney you know is only three caps away from 100 scandalous i know.
Charl91 Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Beautiful. I love to see him pissed off. Like a petulant child. https://mediacru.sh/4e3-zJN-7Yn1
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 He stomps around like a 6 year old girl who's just been told she can't have a new toy
65RosesFox Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Beautiful. I love to see him pissed off. Like a petulant child. https://mediacru.sh/4e3-zJN-7Yn1 The fact none of them look like they're interested or even listening says it all really.

He's never performed for England at a World Cup. Man Utd were well off the pace last season and the 300k per week they are paying him is nowhere near value for money. In fact, it's scandalous. 17 league goal last season and 27 two seasons before that is not a bad return really. I'm in a minority but I don't get the complete hate towards him. He possibly had some dodgy sexual partners in the past and he doesn't appear to be the most intellectual guy around but he's been a good player for club and country. His post match interview was balanced and fair. As for his salary it isn't really his fault is it? If any of us were offered 300k per week to stay in our job I don't think many on here would turn it down. The players are easy targets in this but if the clubs as whole stayed firm and said 25k is the maximum wage (for eg) then we wouldn't have the obscene salaries paid to players but this isn't ever going to happen.
ScouseFox Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 The fact none of them look like they're interested or even listening says it all really. haha yeah they're all just looking away like "oh great wayne's having another cry fu cking dick head"
StanSP Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Spent more time in the ear of the referee today than I got from my first wife in ten years of marriage Didn't shake the hands of all the Leicester players at the end of the game Didn't go over to the United fans at the end of the game Don't agree with booing the England captain but on that display I am not surprised interest in football is heading toward the club and away from the country Nuff said Yes he did on both counts. He went straight to the ref after the full-time whistle then as he walked to the tunnel he shook a few players' hands. And he was 1 of only 4 who did go to the Utd fans. And he was a mouthy cvnt today.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 September 2014 Posted 22 September 2014 Rooney is very average i think, certainly in comparison to other big names in the United team let alone hum being World Class. Actually think he has been a slow decline for years now, clearly talented but never improved in ten years i would say
Dan Posted 22 September 2014 Posted 22 September 2014 Over-rated twat. Absolute embarrassment that some actually think he's a world class player.
ozleicester Posted 22 September 2014 Posted 22 September 2014 Its all a bit hard on him to be honest, He was a good striker, the best weve (england) had for a few years, but because the rest of the England side has been short on talent, the expectation has fall onto him and he is not skillfull and gifted enough to carry that expectation. Hes a bit psycho, always has been. But, his reaction after the goal is exactly what (as a supporter) i would like to see, he seemed to care and wanted to win.... we all rave when Kasper does his post goal outbursts, A good player who has had too many expectations placed on him. but who cares.... Lestoh 5... a small northen club 3
Freesolo Posted 22 September 2014 Posted 22 September 2014 Di Maria is world class united payed $60 million for him Rooney is worth less than $20 IMO and i dont think there would be a que of clubs lining up to sign him like 5 years ago
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 22 September 2014 Posted 22 September 2014 Has moments of magic in him, but generally a decent player who has been over-hyped to the hilt and comes across as a bit of a cvnt.
Merging Cultures Posted 22 September 2014 Posted 22 September 2014 I used to like him. I liked his aggression when he fought hard for a win. But these days he looks average, sure he runs around a lot, but other than shouting at people he isn't taking the game by the scruff of the neck like he used to. The managers and staff are to blame. I think it is amazing they won't consider dropping him, let alone that they made him captain! He can't be blamed for his salary either, we'd all take it.
Captain... Posted 22 September 2014 Posted 22 September 2014 Beautiful. I love to see him pissed off. Like a petulant child. https://mediacru.sh/4e3-zJN-7Yn1 I like the fact Blind is just walking off shaking his head while Rooney is ranting away then, after Rooney finishes his first rant, turns round to tell everyone to keep calm, then Rooney goes off on one again. No problem with a player being angry after a goal and giving someone a bit of a rollicking on the pitch but that was over the top and completely unnecessary I wonder if it had any impact on the later mistake by Blackett trying too hard...
EGBFitness Posted 22 September 2014 Posted 22 September 2014 I don't think that his wage is the biggest issue, it's his attitude and ego that goes with it. We've all come to accept that footballers are on silly money- (some deserved, others not) having your annual strop to demand more money then say that you love the club is one of the reasons I don't like him
