Can't fault the players for effort and individual performances were fine, but Pearson has had an absolute stinker today. Everything he could get wrong, he got wrong.

Yet more experimenting with bizarre tactics and team selection, the kind of thing we should have been doing in pre-season, and exactly the opposite of the back to basics approach needed when you're on a bad run. It was patently obvious that with a diamond we'd be relying on full backs to provide attacking width, which is great if you've got world class wing backs but we've got RDL and Konchesky. Meanwhile we've got our best attacking winger in Mahrez on the bench and a very creative attacking winger in Knockeart not even in the squad. How much more obvious does football get, really? Even on the rare occasions we attempted to attack through the middle, we chose to play long ball, but we couldn't even play hoofball properly because our best target man was on the bench.

The substitutions were crap. Totally ineffective, didn't change the shape of the team at all even though it was clear we were never going to score with the diamond.

It's another great opportunity to beat a team who were there for the taking squandered by a manager who looks increasingly like he is losing control. This is exactly what happened two seasons ago and it took a pre-season before we got back to basics and found our form again. Pearson needs to get his head together quickly because the pressure will soon start to really intensify.

lol this place lol

Terrible game, lucky winner for them, denied a good pen shout, draw would of been fair.

Worrying thing for us is are forwards haven't played well since September (all of them....... not just Nugent)

You could copy and paste that from the Newcastle game.

0 points from those 2 games is really disappointing given the run of those matches.

The diamond is an absolute abomination. Way too congested.

slight improvement (not hard)

mahrez, knockaert? anyone? load of crap again really. Vardy looked a bit lively at times, west brom were rubbish. we needed a spark. we have two. neither got on the pitch. smashing.

Pearson has lost it and  imo should go !

Bringing on two players with 9 minutes to go proves he has no clue !

Listen Pearson, you will lose your job, and deserve to lose your job unless you give  substitutes at least 25 minutes to make their marks on a losing side !!!!

We actually played our best football since Man United, very unlucky with the West Brom goal so soon after HT.

Matty James again looking quality, I thought the shape was wrong, and we're playing to match opposition as opposed to playing to make them match us.

Side note: Could have done better and snatched a goal, frustrating, but we were not bettered by them.

Side Side note: Please FA ban Wasilewski for his elbows, this isn't rugby, this isn't how football should be played and he doesn't deserve to be excused for being a consistent offender of deliberate elbows.

i still ask the question, as to why Pearson did not bring in a quality left back, when it was so obvious we need one.

Looking around the side, there are a good few players who are just not Premiership material. Pearson only did half a job during the close season, in the transfer market. That is now painfully obvious to us all. More worrying than that, he is not inspiring his players, who appear to be losing more confidence every week. Pearson's weaknesses have now been exposed, and he is obviously struggling with which team to send out, and the tactics he needs to employ. His own confidence appears to be shattered.

I truly hope the board will stick by him, but the writing is getting ever clearer on the wall, that his job is becoming less and less secure.

Finally, I just hope we can survive this season, and learn our lesson from it, which is pretty much what I have been expecting from day one. We need a massive turn around, if we are to survive.

What has today got to do with our left back, apart from the og they never looked like scoring either?

Atwell and his officials had an absolute stinker as well today.

Looked like Foster handballed after about 2 minutes, Wasilewski should have been sent off and his management of the game was absolutely atrocious.

West Brom were even wasting time in the first half and the 4 minutes of injury time demonstrated that he literally didn't give a shit about Foster's obvious time wasting. That it took him 85 minutes to find his cards on a day when West Brom made 12 fouls (and even that was for time wasting) says it all about the grip he had on that game.

Still we could have had 15 minutes of injury time and we still wouldn't have scored. Haven't scored for over 5 hours now :nigel:

Anyone watching the stream know if it was a peno. Looked blatant to me. Atwell was wank. 4 mins was disgusting. Nothing less than I expected though.

Cambiasso was shit. Why on earth we play without wingers is beyond me.

West Brom were a horrible team to watch. Would love to see them go down. Crap team.

Kinda brings some perspective to all those claiming, after the Man Utd game, that we were 'clearly better' than other teams in the division. We clearly aren't.

If we don't stay up this season, it will be because we don't score enough goals, not due to conceding loads.

I didn't like the formation today. We huffed and puffed again, but didn't really look like scoring. The chances we made were very few. The team needs that quality midfielder who can put his foot on the ball, pick a pass and score goals. We looked quite solid, but had such little creativity. For the first time this season, I'm starting to get a little worried. We look a disjointed side and keeping chopping and changing the formation is not working.

Good post. Pretty much word for word what I was going to post.

Nige deserves time imho but his selections and tactics have been dreadful these past few games. He seems to be hoping to happen upon an effective system by experimenting. I think the fans are generally with him but if he loses the player's then he's ****ed.

Foster didn't handle outside box. Yeah his feet did but the whole ball didn't cross the line.

No to pen. Vardy never had the ball and Lescott took it. Contact was after Lestcott had made the tackle

Come on guys lets have some perspective, we weren't at our best today but it was an improved performance over recent games. Also, as bad as we were West Brom were far worse. Can't believe they've gone home with all 3pts today as they are one of the worst away teams I've seen in a long time.

A WBA player handled in the box. Probably a penalty but luck wasn't with us today.

Every week since Man Utd, someone, or multiple posters have come on here, and said the opposition have been shit in every game.

Try and get it into your thick skulls that the teams we are playing are 100% better than you are giving them credit for if they can win games when clearly not at their best.

They weren't great but we still lost. All relegated have hard luck stories.

Oh, that one. Think that might have been harsh too and mustn't be something we dwell on. Performance and particularly balance of team is what worries me.
