Fans performance today?

Our fans are only arsed if we play a top side.

Thought it was better than Burnley though.

The crowd were as nervous as the players. away PL sides have noisy support. the team needed the crowd to get behind them today - it might have relaxed them a bit. Assuming a poor result at soton, we will need a positive mindset in three weeks time.

The majority of crowds respond to excitement and events during the game.

Yes in an ideal world fans would sing win, lose or draw, but the team have to help create an atmosphere, attempts on goal, attacking intent you get an atmosphere, a team low on confidence, missing passing and creating next to nothing, doesn't get the fans going.

Some lad got arrested in L1 today for singing 'your just a shit Aston Villa'.

This, i've said it time and time again thrugh the years, yes us as fans have our part to play, we need to be loud, encourage them, but it starts with them, we are paying them, we are there to be entertained (not guaranteed I understand) but it starts with them first.

None of us want to go there to moan and groan, despite what ultra optimists want to believe, but we moan and groan for a reason. If the players want to change that and turn it into positive, encouraging noise, prove people wrong.

It works both ways be its fans encouraging the team to the team discouraging the fans.

Sadly yes. I'm directly 1 row above him, his mates couldn't believe it. He didn't even resist arrest, I'd have kicked off if that happened to me. However the police don't do anything when Arsenal fans do cut throat signs to us, or when the Newcastle fans launched bottles at us, or even when Sheffield Wednesday fans sang 'Leicester's full of *****'.

Jose Mourinho hits out at Chelsea fans: 'It feels like we're playing in an empty stadium' http://t.co/X0mCaQ8QYHhttp://t.co/n93dhvpo4O

Face facts, every home ground support is toss. The away support from any top club is quality due to numbers of singers/ drinkers situated together plus any points gained on the road are a bonus. Ira a Sad fact but home support in majority of clubs in all leagues is Piss poor.

We've been piss poor lately vocally!

Swansea away downstairs in the concourse it was fairly decent but it didn't continue up into the stands! Our vocal support was awful for 85% of that game.

At the same time though it is the players job to give us something to shout about! And at the moment they really aren't providing anything.

Oh they are, just not in a positive way.

Awful. Knew it would be. Only time fans got mildly involved was to boo Konchesky for losing possession one too many times (harsh considering he had no options ever, whatsoever) and briefly singing the Ulloa song whilst Nugent was struggling. Painful.

Terrible. Most around me couldn't be bothered to try and encourage and couldn't wait to berate anything that went slightly wrong.

Most of the ground sat in silence through a fantastic promotion campaign and after an initial burst of brilliant support have now lapsed back into the old ways.

Yeah that's right, the fans were the problem today.

My thoughts exactly, we pay to be entertained, not make noise, love a good atmosphere, but love a good performance aswell.

Pissed me off when James had picked up the ball on the edge of our box and instead of mindlessly hoofing he actually played his way out and everybody was screaming at him for doing the correct thing.
