Not awful for most of the game so I'm not going to hammer the players for their performance. A lot of players were just passengers today though, people like Ulloa and Drinkwater who are good enough to influence the game did nothing. Nothing at all. I'd also like to know why De Laet keeps getting picked, has Simpson not impressed in training or something?

You play a narrow formation and Ritchie has to play to give us some attacking width. Thought he was fine personally.

As you say, I thought nobody was poor just that we never really looked threatening. Thought we defended brilliantly for 70 mins and Pearson's starting line up was bang on but the bench was poor. You can't have only 1 wide player in the whole squad and then not even consider using him when 2 down.

Thought Ulloa and King were poor. Most of our players got 6's and 7's, gave Nige a 4. No intent.

We don't really have anyone creative on the pitch so not surprising we created nothing, our best chance coming from a bit of fortune which we didn't take anyway.

Schlupp's best game by far. Strong tackles and a little threat going forward. CBs again solid and put under a hell of a lot of pressure. Cambiasso our best midfielder by far, the only composed one in possession. Vardy feeding off scraps but worked his socks off. De Laet by far the worst player on a pitch. Ulloa couldn't control the ball today.

Depressing performance with v little positives apart from Schlupp and Cambiasso.

Southampton are a very good side though, let's not forget that. It doesn't excuse our lack of quality going forward again though.

RDL really struggled today. Unsurprising given his role, but then Schlupp was out MOTM for me. Simpson in next game - I think he will be...

Schlupp much better at LB than LW for me. Not sure why there was such negativity pre-match as to his inclusion there, he's improved a lot in that position over the last year or so.

Pearson, Powell and Ulloa lucky to get 1.

Cambiasso, James and Schlupp were ok. The centre backs deserve decent ratings. Vardy had no support and worked his socks off tbf.

Vardy was my MOTM. Says all you need to know about our performance today tbf. Nothing different from the last 6 games.

Drinkwater finally impressed in the first 20 minutes, but then returned to his form this whole season. It was pathetic. Cambiasso is understandably a shadow of his former self. Ulloa didn't seem to care today, pretty sure he was playing as a holding midfielder rather than a striker. That or he was out of position for 80% of his time on the pitch today.

I'm slowly getting sick of Schmeichel blaming the defenders for each and every goal. The first goal was perfectly within his range. It's also easy to forget his distribution is pathetic, particularly when it led to Long's second goal.

Don't even want to get started on Wood and Powell.

Pearson got it wrong today. Team selection, tactics, timing of substitutions, all wrong. The board needs to start putting pressure on him. Stress is good.

But I thought Schlupp was League 1 standard.

At LM and upfront, yes he is. At left back he's up to scratch, as quite a few people were saying when he was shite earlier in the season

Schemeichel - gave the ball back to them or kicked it out of play time and time again. For their 2nd he had a simple pass to Moore but instead punted it to a completey unmarked Southampton player, who played it over the top and scored and then went around pointing at his defence. The defence were at fault as well but take a long hard look at your own game before blaming others. 4

De Laet - skinned time and time again - 3

Morgan - saved us several times first half. Man of the match - 7

Wasilewski - also looked solid - 7

Schlupp - awful first half hour which he was skinned several times and constantly gave the ball away but grew into the game later on - 5 (or 3 for the first half hour, 7 afterwards)

Cambiasso - at least tried to be creative - 6

King/Drinkwater/James/Vardy/Ulloa - meh. - 5

Was and schluppy were good for me. Wood and Powell were sunday league, and thats an insult to sunday leagues. NP has lost the plot for me, but as someone said, tickets will be easier to come by next year back in the championship.

wife reckons geff was ok as well, rest rubbish. My motm, our fans. Made a bloody effort, well done everyone

Amazing how different people view performances. Personally feel Ulloa had a decent game considering what he had to do and the complete no service he had. Schlupp has to be MOTM by miles, Pearson was dreadful Powell & Wood should not have come anywhere near the pitch.

The fact he can't pass the ball means he's not up to scratch in any position.

Powell did not much last week in the 10 mins he had - everyone raved about him

Powell did not much this week in the 10 mins he had - everyone is slating him

This is getting tedious now, what has the guy done to you?

Killed one of your pets?

Had sex with a family member?

Told you to fook off, when you asked him for his autograph?

schlupp, vardy and cambiasso our best players today. schlupp defended really well and got forward effectively, vardy looked a threat every time he got a chance and cambiasso looked very composed in midfield. King and Ulloa were poor today though, I'd want pearson to drop king for mahrez next game and give us some quality in midfield.

not the end of the world, southampton are a good team. we just need the midfield to up their game and give vardy and ulloa some good service
