josh_baskin Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 Its clear the owners need to break the bank regardless of who is in charge come January. Just wondering if maybe the budget will have been raised for bringing in new faces as we look so ill equipped?!
davieG Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 Raising the budget to get players into a relegation threatened team isn't likely to get you plsyers that will be up for the fight.
Monk Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 You mean the same ill equipped squad that put 5 past United?
Stadt Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 I think we'd need to shift some players first, maybe Hammond and GTF to get some better replacements.
TOMBlcfc Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 This all sounds a bit too much like QPR's relegation season to me. Strenghten specific areas with hard working players but no panic mass buying please
LcFc_Smiv Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 Breaking the bank is the worst thing we can do, expect Walsh to be scouting some Mahrez-esque signings. As for whoever said offloading Hammond, he is one of the few to consistently deliver.

MHC Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 Good players are expensive and we must be willing to spend some money in January. Somewhere between 20 and 30 million would be sufficient due to inflated prices.
LcFc_Smiv Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 The whole of the summer we expected some unknown Mahrez type signing, never happened. It didnt need to happen in the summer, we had a squad high on confidence and who are close as a group. It was safe by us to not go out and pay for a bunch of overpriced players, we're not in a dire situation, and little will be spent in jan, it just wont be risked.
MooseBreath Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 Wouldn't mind a couple of big money full backs, but other than that we've already got an abundance of players. Adding more into the mix is a recipe for disharmony and we could easily end up in a mess. Unless we sell players to free up spaces I don't think it's a good idea to buy too many more.
hesapeepingtom Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 You mean the same ill equipped squad that put 5 past United? seriously **** off with that united result! it means less than **** all now! shut it!
Father Ted Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 We already have 4 players regularly missing out on the squad on a matchday basis that Pearson can't keep happy. I don't see us signing anybody unless we terminate Powell's loan and shift Albrighton, Simpson, Hammond, Konchesky, Nugent... Common denominator being that 5 signed/re-signed on in the summer and are not good enough. Frustrating isn't the word. We've signed absolute SHIT, 'back-up players', given new contracts to crap and nobody left except for Dyer who would be doing a job right now. Pearson can't keep everybody happy, you can't rotate in the Prem and there's a hell of a lot less games and shit teams to play against. Completely ****ed the squad balance and our worst first team squad players are our new signings...
RowlattsFox Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 If pearson survives until then I can't imagine too many. He clearly doesn't have faith in our wide men so he will have to look at good signing in this area. Hope we spend a bit on it becuase it has to make a difference. January is not an easy month to buy in though, especially for a poor team.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 You mean the same ill equipped squad that put 5 past United? That's them. The ones who can't score goals any more!
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 Cambiasso, and Ulloa apart, Pearson shot his bolt bringing in average Championship quality players. He also retained dross, like Konch., RDL, Schlupp, and Knocky. There is no hiding from the fact that he has made massive errors on the personnel side, in the close season, and now appears to be clueless at how to change things round. If you don't have the right players, then there is sod all you can do. We had a good opening, where teams we played were over cautious of us, but now we have been found out, and are easy meat. I still support Pearson, but I am bitterly disappointed with him.
Bettsj2 Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 Breaking the bank is a phrase that strikes fear into us all. I wouldnt want us to be throwing cash around but, if the right player was available, wanted, was willing to come and could add quality to the squad, pay the money.
FoxyPalace.com Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 Poor signing in the summer has come back to haunt us.
Callabinho Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 No doubt we will sign plenty of talent to challenge for promotion.
lgfualol Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 I imagine the owners will force pearson to spend, even though Pearson is stubborn enough to not buy anyone. I bet about £8m will be spent - new left back, centre mid and winger. I hope we don't spend too much because relegation would be made worse by having a bunch of overpaid/overpriced shits. As long as the wages aren't mad.
Buzzell Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 'Break the bank' and become the new QPR? No thanks.
katieakita Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 What ever they are paid we want players proud to wear the shirt. In the summer plenty on here myself included were happy that those who got us promoted were given the chance to prove themselves, also many got improved contracts, if we are still struggling come Jan then it will be easier to bring in players on bigger wages or bonus for survival without rocking the team spirit too much.
Foxes1 Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 GTF will be back by then see he's doing well at the Owls. http://www.swfc.co.uk/news/article/gray-explains-taylor-fletcher-withdrawal-2072561.aspx
Dan Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 Breaking the bank and panicking is the kind of behaviour I'd expect from QPR. We're better than that. Couple of intelligent, well thought out signings should do the trick rather than chopping and changing all of the time.
Monk Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 seriously **** off with that united result! it means less than **** all now! shut it! Jog on mate - first control yourself, second my point is that the players we have are not incapable we are just on a bad run.

As long as the wages aren't mad. Then we will have no better than we have now. Jan is an over inflated month and we have prem money. As we seen with Ulloa in the summer in an we have 31 days to force a club to sell so offers will need to be large.
