Fox92 Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 I actually agree with the above. From a fans point of view the PL Is quite shit, expensive, overrated and the bullshit that goes with it often makes you vomit. Agree with that. It's why I'd like us to take both cup competitions seriously (sadly we're out of the league cup) because we aren't going to win the PL and no team ever will unless it's backed with unlimited money - see Manchester City and Chelsea. Two, now probably one actually, teams compete for title. It's sad. So winning a domestic cup is about as far as it goes for a club like ourselves.
Corky Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 It was reported on MOTD as Leicester fans sarcastically cheering, followed by shots of King and Pearson looking pissed off. But fair enough I wasn't there. They were wrong, it was in response to them sarcastically cheering after we sarcastically cheered their disallowed goal. Lots of sarcastic cheering going on.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 Our owners are boss and will (I hope) give Nige the January window to bring in some fresh faces.

But fair enough I wasn't there. They were wrong. It was Southampton fans who were sacarstically cheering Kings shot. It all started from when they had a goal disallowed and continued until the end of the game.

Not as bad as when the FLS told us that Schmeichel had booted the ball into the stand at Forest for his booking when he threw it back towards the halfway line, nowhere near the stand or his foot.
Babylon Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 I had a lovely bacon and tomato cob at lunch.
Spicer Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 The hot chocolates at the KP are nice. Happiness in a cup.
Dan Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 The Premier League never will be as good as the journey there unless you work miracles.
Dan Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 It really doesn't help as it takes so long for players to have a chance to rectify any poor performances, it also feels like there have been lots of international breaks too, so any momentum is easily lost. Last season a poor game and you get another game in 3 days to put it right, in the prem you get a week of constant analysis and criticism and not just in the club and from the fans, but from the national press and media too. It is only 4 games, but it will be six weeks on Saturday since our last goal, now that is a depressing thought. Agree with this massively and have said it for a while. That will change the longer we go on this season, though it just feels like every single downer is prolonged more and more. I do think the fixture list is a bit of a joke. The fact we play on December 26th, 28th then January 1st and 3rd whilst we hardly ever seem to have any midweek games. In-fact our only one has been Shrewsbury.
J.Lisemore Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 I actually agree with the above. From a fans point of view the PL Is quite shit, expensive, overrated and the bullshit that goes with it often makes you vomit. This... On a separate note, I know its probably not just the Premier League but the political correctness of tackling in the game is getting ridiculous, you've got commentators saying things like "well the intent was there and he used excessive force.." when the guy clearly gets the fvcking ball first. Maybe its not a big deal to most people, but I've always admired a full blooded challenge, something they are clearly trying to omit from the game.
sylofox Posted 10 November 2014 Author Posted 10 November 2014 **** the Premier League, the lack of midweek games is a shitter Will give you that one.

Last season we lost a number of times before international breaks though, giving the players a fortnight to mull over it - but we always bounced back with a win. This group know how to deal with that (or at least, they did in the second tier).

This group know how to deal with that (or at least, they did in the second tier). I think they still do given the chance. Nige seems to be giving to much respect to the lesser side we are playing Sotton included in that. They have played Liverpool and spurs and lost to both so I would expect a poor run for them when they hit the big boys. This is by no means an anti Nige post but I do feel we should be playing our game more and worry a little less about stopping the other side. If we give the opposition more to think about that will give them less time to play to there strengths. Anyway defending is not our strongest point even last year.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 Don't know how anyone realistically expected us to compete in this market.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 I said to my two lads over the previous seasons to be careful what you wish for. It's quite nice being in the championship and in contention, winning games and usually challenging. The EPL is a different ball game (well obviously not) and we're finding it difficult right now. It's better to be here trying than never to have had the chance. Keep the faith.

It's better to be here trying than never to have had the chance. Keep the faith. Absolutely agree with this. We've been ten years trying to get back to the PL and while the current pain isn't pleasant it's a lot better than the feeling when we were relegated to League 1. I want us to get through this and develop into a club that is a regular in the PL, and if we have to go through bad times to get there so be it. Onwards, and hopefully eventually, upwards.
1993fox Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 So now people aren't happy with being in the Premier League. This pessimism is hitting a new low. That said, I don't agree with the OP. There's a lot to be dissatisfied about the last 6 games.

There's a lot to be dissatisfied about the last 6 games. Who says I am happy. Dissatisfied is one thing but the amount moaning like two bob hookers is a joke. Did they not learn anything from last season after the previous season. Vardy and Drinky being pissed off at the start of the season to start with. How stupid do the Newcastle fans look now Pardew is king.
Gary Eatfood Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 I think the Cambiasso chant has proven to be a complete success, he's magic don't you know.
Monsell1976 Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 Just seems at the moment no one is happy about anything to do with our club. The manager The team The team picked The formation Tactics And just about every player has come in for criticism over the last few weeks. Starting to wonder if people are happy we won promotion last season. With all the moaning it makes me wonder if people would rather we had just missed out last season. Things are not good ATM but perhaps like the manager and the players we all need to stand up and be counted. Perhaps if we started doing a little better (stop moaning) our team and manager may do better for us. just to add a couple more. The ground is to big To small The parking No balti pies Moving games for TV To many games on TV International breaks Sorry that was Several. Think you answered your own question there pal.
Westlife Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 I'm not happy with the size of my manhood . . . I'm sure its Pearson's fault.
Burbo17J2 Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 So that's it... All we need is More Hot Chocolate from down the KP, and more of Babylon's lunch
Thracian Posted 10 November 2014 Posted 10 November 2014 I was going to buy my youngest a ticket to one of the midwinter games as a Christmas present but don't want to make him miserable so I'm happy to have the chance to change my mind. I'm happy that I've not bought a season ticket this year given our lack of enterprise of late. I'm happy that my Chinese student friend has moved on to Birmingham University and hasn't had to suffer seeing 400 minutes without a goal and I'm happy that we're not so far adrift in the table that we might have been all but beyond hope already. How much "positive" do you want?
