Kyle_Le_Don Posted 14 November 2014 Posted 14 November 2014 Sorry... anyone got a link to it? Just watched it and blubbed me eyes out (couldn't help it)
sphericalfox Posted 14 November 2014 Posted 14 November 2014 Cynical use of advertising I've seen in a very long time!
pSinatra Posted 14 November 2014 Posted 14 November 2014 Cynical use of advertising I've seen in a very long time! RIP Harry Patch
sphericalfox Posted 14 November 2014 Posted 14 November 2014 RIP Harry Patch I suspect he shopped at Sainsbury's. Looked like a Sainbury's kinda fella.
jonthefox Posted 14 November 2014 Posted 14 November 2014 I think it's decent. At least there's no product overkill in it.
sphericalfox Posted 14 November 2014 Posted 14 November 2014 I think it's decent. At least there's no product overkill in it. Kinda like the war. It's subtle.
sphericalfox Posted 14 November 2014 Posted 14 November 2014 Use the war to sell groceries - why not. Nah, it's about 'sharing' and Christmas...
bovril Posted 14 November 2014 Posted 14 November 2014 We Brits love an advert. Especially a mawkish one with a mellow piano soundtrack.
Beliall Posted 14 November 2014 Posted 14 November 2014 Cant beleive you made me watch that shit Shameless.
GingerrrFox Posted 14 November 2014 Posted 14 November 2014 I think it's alright to be honest, considering the only product they advertise in the actual advert is a chocolate bar where all profits go to the Royal British Legion. Plus they are the only Supermarket that actively supports the Poppy appeal.

ScouseFox Posted 14 November 2014 Posted 14 November 2014 ****ing hell some over dramatic gimps in here it's an advert ffs not a campaign to disrespect the war dead
bovril Posted 14 November 2014 Posted 14 November 2014 i thought it was pretty good as well, no different to the carling advert with the dambusters, which was imo the funniest advert ever. That was a bit different, it was a spoof of a film.
yorkie1999 Posted 14 November 2014 Posted 14 November 2014 That was a bit different, it was a spoof of a film. Of a film that was true.
MPH Posted 14 November 2014 Posted 14 November 2014 Hurry up saturday and give the complainers something else to moan about...
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 14 November 2014 Posted 14 November 2014 imo it's pretty shitty to be using the increased coverage of ww1 and Remembrance Day due the anniversary to make money in such a blatant way like advertising.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 14 November 2014 Posted 14 November 2014 I don't know about you, but if I was lying in the stinking mud of the Somme, my guts spilling out on to the ground, knowing that I would never see my home or loved ones again, I reckon that if I knew that in nearly a century's time that the events in which I was playing but a small and tragic part would be used to help a shop sell groceries and household goods, well, then I'd take great comfort from that
sphericalfox Posted 14 November 2014 Posted 14 November 2014 ****ing hell some over dramatic gimps in here it's an advert ffs not a campaign to disrespect the war dead It is a drama that's for sure. I hoping the Bay of Pigs episode gets the next treatment. Danepak anyone? Please make the step up.

jamesmilner Posted 14 November 2014 Posted 14 November 2014 I think you'll find it actually happened ! they played a game of football in "no mans land" on xmas day , then they returned to the trenches to kill each other the next day . most wars are fought by governments or tyrants , not the common people . its an advert to show us this , they were just normal men MADE to fight an unfightable war . sad really that few cant recognise a good meaning advert for once . lest we forget .
