Why the hell do people start leaving with 5 minutes to go

Why tell us then?

It doesn't bother me, unless I'm constantly having to stand up for these people. Although, the family stand looked awful yesterday in stoppage time. Just makes it even better if we score a late goal.

This is a discussion forum is it not? Besides, the plastic vs no plastic discussion is utterly embarrasing.

"i'm the biggest fan", "no, i'm the biggest fan"..... please.... grow the **** up all.

If I'm going early, which is rare, I go.

I hate peeps who are going and then stand right in front of you.

Had one person do that against Arsenal, 5 minutes to go, had to stand to let him pass and he suddenly decided he wanted to see what happened next in the game and just stood there, I had to tell him to get the hell out of the way.

Other than that it is their ticket and if they need to go why should it be anyone else's business.

I remember leaving Chelsea about 20 years ago, think it was after about 60 minutes, we were a good four goals down.

Got blasted by a few fans who said I wasn't loyal, but to be fair, thought they were mad to hang around myself.

Six o'clock Dave...

I realised that I maybe old but I not senile yet

The reason it bothers me is that football collective experience and not an individual one. Seeing people walk out (giving up on the team) drains the life out of the stadium. I think a Blackpool player said it was disheartening to see fans leave early when they were in the Premier League.

So yeah, I do think it's my business and everyone else's in the stadium.

If people were giving up on the team, they wouldn't be turning up week in week out.... Like some of the posts have said, trains /congestion has a part to play.

For the last five minutes they are giving up on the team.

Some (not all) are leaving early to catch a train or bus or to avoid an extra 30 minutes stuck in traffic. Not every city fan lives local. They do have a reason to bugger off before the final whistle. Don't lose any sleep over it ;)

There's a woman and her fella who sit in SK3 on same row as me and they always leave about 10 minutes before they end. Don't understand it. My mind boggles!

Are you sat just behind me Mike? There's a woman and her fella do exactly the same where we sit.

I park relatively near the ground and tend to shoot off about five mins early IF we are losing and its clear we couldn't score in a brothel.

Two reasons:

1. Im bored of watching crap

2. If i leave five mins early, I get home in ten mins. If i leave after the whistle, its about six.

If its a close game i always stay, as i do if we are winning.

That's a shocking admission. Col is a leave early fan!!

If I stay sat in my seat until the final whistle it can take anywhere from 10-30 mins to get out of the ground, plus then a very slow walk back. I will always get in a position near the concourse as we are entering the final minute or so, then I can leg it out. I certainly won't change this policy at the minute as I can't remember the last time we scored a meaningful late goal anyway, don't think we have this season other than Wood vs Everton.

On my row yesterday there were about 6 people (two groups) who turned up about 10 mins into the first half. Then went down 5-10 mins before half time. Came back about 5 mins into the second half and left 5 mins early before the end.

Why the **** would you even bother going to the game if you miss about a third of it.

I don't get why people come late and why people leave to do stuff at half time on the 40th minute.

I had to leave 10 mins early v Liverpool as i had to start work at 10pm, did feel wierd but amazed how many people were also leaving. You do save masses of time in terms of travel time, but it didn't feel right, but each to their own!

Knowing my luck if i'd leave arly there would be a rip roaring end to a game!

Being a hardcore though i wouldnt contemplate leaving early...unlike Leave Early Col!!!

What a load of codswollop They wouldn't be able to play full stop if that was the case

 110 x 76 yards

the pitch can be no less than 100 yards in length and no more than 130 yards

the width can be no less than 50 yards and no more than 100 yards

This is also wrong This is the premier league ruling

K.15 Unless otherwise permitted by the Board, in League Matches the length of the pitch shall be 105 metres and its breadth 68 metres.

I was told that we were not allowed to exit at the front of the kop any longer as the club were being fined for the pitch being too small and were having to extend it and push the advertising board back. That came from a steward.

Well it ain't a load of codswollop  as our pitch is 100 meters long

Our pitch is actually 102 x 67 metres, as said in the ruling the sizing must be permitted by the board which obviously it is as we are playing games on it, we are not the only team to fail to have the correct pitch measurements

My codswollop reply was to the fact we are being fined for having a small pitch and that it was being extended

For 1) as stated above we must have permission as would other clubs who's pitch failed to meet the sizing required

2) we cannot change the sizings of the pitch during the season

Anyway let's try to get this thread back on track shall we

This is utter bull... I wait till the very end then have to walk through the 20,000 people leaving at the same time as me, to walk across the city... to climb in my car to sit in traffic for 30 minutes to get 4 miles...

Yes public transport is bad but I'd guess that most of these people are off to the car park to pick up there car to get back early and nothing more. Yes and before people say it, there are going to be people leaving with 'genuine' reason but the rest are letting 'their' team down!!!

Sigh... this again. If people want to leave let them bloody leave. It's not something I'd do, it's not something I understand especially when things are tight like Saturday, but what the hell does it matter.
