Can Tom Be Our Lawrence Of Arabia

I'm convinced we've loaned him to get him game time before Riyad and Jeff go.

I think you're right. Hopefully he takes his chance and helps earn us some much needed points. I can just imagine it turns out he is absolute class for us, we're all getting excited at the prospect of him and Mahrez on the wings, then Mahrez goes and gets injured at the ACON.

He's on loan at Rotherham. So what? He can only impress where he is, and it looks as if he is impressing well. I'd give him a go, like I said, he can't be any worse than Schlupp who actually really frustrates me.

It'd take a scale of incompetence never before witnessed to loan out a player who apparently can be our saviour to Rotherham rather than, you know, play him here instead.

Shakey: Gaffer, that Lawrence lad is amazing - our best winger by far, he could be a real spark for our season, lets get him in the side ASAP!

Pearson: Nope, I've got a much better idea, lets loan him to Rotherham and wait till we're well adrift at the bottom of the league and our only two other pacey wingers have buggered off to the African Cup of Nations.

Shakey: Brilliant plan boss, that is the last thing anyone would expect.

Yeah I somewhat doubt he's going to come back walk into the side and solve all our problems and I don't really think our wingers are the issue anyway, other than we fact that we persist with Jeff Schlupp while better alternatives battle out to play 15 minutes at the end of every game.

He's performances at Rotherham have been encouraging though.

Makes perfect sense to me to loan him out, 1. get him match fit and 2. brimming with confidence ready to bring back into the squad in January, thus filling the gap left by Schlupp and Mehrez with someone who is match fit.

Saying its only Rotherham is arrogant its Championship football and hes clearly doing well as he also did at United, its a positive for us if not this season then def next when were in the same League as Rotherham!

He's a central attacking midfielder not a winger so not sure why I keep seeing everyone raving about him as a winger... He's admitted himself he's a central player.

Have Rotherham have been playing him in the centre haven't they??

He's more of a jack wilshire type player, gets the ball in the centre and drives forward.

just adding to this, I suppose it would be a four horse race for these 2 spots....lawrence (if he returned), if not, then Knocky,

Albrighton, or King and Powell ( not as a wingers), unless NP has his eyes on someone from outside.

Something else but speculative, RDL has the wingback.

Arabian horses obviously.

Funny really isn't it considering they're in a league we were in for years before this - in a side that is less creative and less on the front foot than we ever were.

He can only beat what's in front of him and by all accounts he has been.

No but that's his best chance of getting in this side especially a we're playing one striker. He's nothing like Jack wilshire, he plays an attacking role whether that be behind the striker part of a front two or part of a front three(i.e occasionally out wide)

Not sure he's been that good for Rotherham...

One goal, no assists. Also if you look at the dispossessed and bad control numbers, he's given the ball away. A lot.

Messi does too apparently. Good players try riskier things. They're the ones tasked with playing the final ball or going past their man because their more likely to pull it off. That could be one reason for that stat.
