Can Tom Be Our Lawrence Of Arabia

Been thinking this for a lot of today. I want him in the team soon. You don't get absolutely raved about for nothing. He could make quite a difference to us if he can carry his form from Rotherham into the Premier League. Looks a breath of fresh air.

I'm not quite sure why he's been loaned out and not given a chance already. We're on our knees, desperate for a few pieces of magic to nick some points and yet we've farmed him out. If he comes back in Jan and makes an impact then we'll all be wondering what a waste of a few months it's been when we've not been able to use him. Strange decision from a manager whose lost his pickle.

lol come on Dan you've been a fan for long enough to know that's not the case.

Search his name on Twitter. See what Steve Evans is saying about him after every single game. Watch him play. This lad quite clearly has a fair bit of ability.

Like I say, I'm not claiming he's the saviour, but can he be any worse than this?

Who knows? Knockaert would get rave reviews at Rotherham and has hardly had a chance in the Prem

Yes I think this is the point, very different playing for us in the prem than playing for Rotherham in the championship.

No, he's unlikely to be worse, but Steve Evans is a convicted fraudster so I'll take what he says with a pinch of salt.

I don't really see what Steve Evans has to gain from talking him up this much. If anything he's weakening his chances of getting his loan extended - and maybe he knows already that he won't be due to us wanting him.

I've got a feeling we'll see him in and around the team soon. I absolutely support that decision if it's made. Gambles need to be taken.

Well given that our two (for some reason) first choice wingers are leaving in 10 days' time I'd go so far as to say that I'd be astonished if he's not in the 18 for the Aston Villa match.

But I won't be holding my breath that a lad of 21 with a limited amount of professional football, let alone Premier League, experience is going to transform our side.

Yes McFraud is very popular down the A52 at Boston, certainly not one for exaggerating.

I'm convinced we've loaned him to get him game time before Riyad and Jeff go.

I won't either but it's quite clear we're more than one player off.

He's making a real impact at Rotherham, he's an exciting talent.

I don't see why we can't give the guy some game time once Mahrez and Schlupp jet off to the ACON. Two wingers down in January, if we don't look to bring anyone in I'd expect him to push for the first team.

Rotherham manager Steve Evans on Lawrence:

"I said last week that Tom [Lawrence] is like a lighthouse in a dark ocean, and when he scores a goal and works as hard as that, you know he's a lighthouse in a dark ocean with a nice bottle of red wine waiting for you when you get there.

"He's a special talent and you need to get him on the ball. For every week we've got him we're grateful."

just adding to this, I suppose it would be a four horse race for these 2 spots....lawrence (if he returned), if not, then Knocky,

Albrighton, or King and Powell ( not as a wingers), unless NP has his eyes on someone from outside.

Something else but speculative, RDL has the wingback.
