Captain... Posted 27 December 2014 Author Posted 27 December 2014 So , some say he doesn't score goals , doesn't create goals , but we are better with him in the side !! What have we become as a team ? ,and our expectations are strange of a forward , oh my days !! And that is the conundrum. This football lark ain't simple or even logical.
Guest LCFC_World Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Its obvious that we play better with Nugent in the side.
Bamba's Babes Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 That role is what we need to use but with a different player His name is Anthony Knockeart. He is already in our squad.

Guest ttfn Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 To play that role the player needs to be selfless and knocky is our most selfish player And yet he created more chances than any other player in the Championship last season. It's probably worth a try if Nugent's unfit. Where he would fall down is his lack of defensive discipline, which Nugent has in abundance and is probably Nuge's biggest attribute in that role.
Blue will Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Those first 5 games had nugent and Ulloa up top, we did so well in those games! Seems a lifetime ago now Lose tomorrow and we will be 9 points behind hull !
BlueJoe Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 all went wrong when we dropped him from the hole. then we put him back in the hole and it's seemingly our best performance in 3 months. what's the conundrum? next. If it was me I'd drop him play a midfield/ front of Vardy James/Drinky Mahrez in the middle Cambiasso Knocky Ulloa up front Mahrez would play in that role well, he loves the space to run and would also help with a fast break. Vardy and Knocky can do what Schlupp and Mahrez haven't been doing enough of, running at the corner flag and crossing the ball to Ulloa who is clearly talented in the air. Cambiasso and James/Drinkwater would then be able to sit back and actually support our weak defence!!!
benpicko Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 To play that role the player needs to be selfless and knocky is our most selfish player People keep saying that but he's been the opposite of that in his U21 performances I've seen and his cameos this year
dayday Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 People keep saying that but he's been the opposite of that in his U21 performances I've seen and his cameos this year Didn't Knockaert and Nige have some sort of fall out? Could well be why he has hardly featured.
LCFCCKEANO Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 We miss the role he plays, so we miss him, we need a link from mid to attack, should've been one of our priorities pre season
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 Play so much better with him in the side, with what we currently have he is the best option in the 4-4-1-1 or even a 4-4-2. While he may not be the best player in the world he's our best option so, again, fvck the haters, especially Grewks, the agenda that never ends.
cc_star Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 No conundrum, he puts a shift in, doesn't give defenders too long to make a pass, involves other players which he did excellently last year with Dyer and Vardy... And in the withdrawn 4411 he link play up really well while putting in a real shift helping the midfielders out

Corky Posted 28 December 2014 Posted 28 December 2014 If we want a goalscorer then he's not the answer. But putting a shift in, linking with others and stopping the opposition at source- he does a good job for the team. We can improve on him but he's been part of the good results and performances this season.
Captain... Posted 1 January 2015 Author Posted 1 January 2015 Nugent again made a difference today and whilst we weren't playing badly before he came on we really do miss his link up play. Vardy needs to do more than just hang on the last defender and wait for the ball to run onto. The way he set up Nuge was probably the only time he looked to bring other players into the game today. Especially with Vardy up front in his own we need more link up play in the middle as getting into good wide positions and crossing into the box is pretty pointless when Vardy is the only Man in there.
ScouseFox Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Great today. We looked great for half an hour without him too, mind. Nige got it spot on today, even all the subs were just what we needed when we needed them. Nugent's goal was ****ing special too.
Dr The Singh Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 A much better side with him in. Has to start. He deserves to start, he is finding his feet.
ronnup Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 He deserves to start, he is finding his feet. Could be a big season for him. He's got a lot to prove premiership wise and people don't realise he's not that old.
