5waller5 Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 "His form of one win in 12 just wasn't good enough" BBC just now. That's the kind of form we'd kill for!!!
cc_star Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Irvine next? Pulis for West Brom? Sherwood for Palace unless potential new owners go overseas
nettle Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Come on he'd have to be sacked if we were relegated to the conference surely? Not on Pearsontalk mate!
Fox92 Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 When you look at the shortlist of replacements you can understand why no one else has sacked their manager. Tony Popovic Chris Hughton Tim Sherwood http://www.thesackrace.com/teams/crystal-palace Nothing wrong with Sherwood. Did a decent job at Spurs.

johnny the fox Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Hope we don't sack our manager too, we know he's clueless at this level and were DEFO going down. But we don't care if we go down, we don't care if we lose every week. We don't care if lcfc even fold, we just want nige to stay. He is God here, f**k the team and the club, we love you nige, were ready for you to leAd us to the conference, please stay Are you being serious?
allotment-fox Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 When he got the job remember a quote in the mirror saying he had “unfinished business” at Palace. it is now
cc_star Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Nothing wrong with Sherwood. Did a decent job at Spurs. His situation was unique at Spurs where he was well liked by all the players, knew the reserves and kids like the back of his hand and he got the best out of Adebayor who had been spurned in favour of underperforming playersOur players arguably aren't underperforming, they're playing on their limits week in, week out with only Swansea & Southampton performance levels questionable Saying that, we certainly haven't performed like we did yesterday in more easily winnable games against the likes of Burnley 2nd half, Palace, West Brom, Villa etc
Matt Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Nothing wrong with Sherwood. Did a decent job at Spurs. Don't know why he get's slagged off so much, got shit on by Spurs. 50% win rate (14 wins, 4 Draws, 10 Losses) can't moan at that, think the run was quite a tough one aswell.
johnny the fox Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 When he got the job remember a quote in the mirror saying he had “unfinished business” at Palace. it is now Yip.. he was saving up for some eyebrows..
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Damn, with The Relegator at the helm they were certain to go down. Now they have got rid they might be safe.
woody01530 Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 It's not until colin is your teams manager that you realise how absolutely crap he is, believe me!
Foxylady64 Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Hope they don't come sniffing around Nigel..why would anyone sniff round the manager at the bottom of the league!
iancognito Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 I love that - just like on the phone-ins - the same 3 people are banging on about wanting Pearson out. Be careful what you wish for guys. You moan that it's Pearsontalk etc but the vast majority of us are sticking with him because he's turned bad runs before and has given us an amazing period of stability in the squad and the club. We took a long time to get away from the Kelly and Levein years. The club has had far worse managers and far worse situations than this. You may not enjoy the current run, you may think that sacking the man at the top is the answer but look at the Charlton fans who were sick of negative Curbishley. They got Dowie and were relegated twice and never have recovered. Leeds got Peter Reid in to 'save their season' and went down twice. Fulham changed twice and got relegated. Cardiff were fairly stable under Mackay, brought in Solskjaer and plummeted. Hull, Swansea, Newcastle and West Ham have all stuck with their managers through some rough times and are all better off for it. The notion that bad luck and individual errors are Pearson's fault is just nonsense. Can he plan for West Brom's shot hitting the post hitting Cambiasso and flying in? Can he plan for Konchesky hitting a shit backpass against West Ham? Morgan fvcking up and scoring an o.g at QPR? Cambiasso missing an open net against Liverpool? He can play whatever formation you like but if the players make the mistakes, he's powerless. He needs January to get here and get at least 4 players with proven quality in. If the owners were going to change they would have done so by now. The Rudkin appointment shows they're happy with the structure and are aware the recruitment needs to be better. So carry on whingeing all you like, the rest of us will stand by the manager and get behind the team.

I thought forums were there for people to have discussions and to agree and disagree healthy debate and all makes it more interesting.

It is who those 14 wins and 10 loses came against that is key. He's just Ian Holloway with a full head of hair. Those ten losses included defeats to every big 4 side, 1-5 vs Man City, 0-4 Chelsea, 0-1 Arsenal (plus 0-2 in the cup), 0-4 Liverpool. His goal was to break into the top 4, his record against them meant he failed.

I've set my sights much lower, just wanting us to break out of the bottom three.
Guest Col city fan Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 All depends how you see it surely? The Palace Board look to have made the change at what could be the right time. Their recent form is poor. Maybe a change is just what they needed? For as many people who bang on about consistency, there's as many who could argue exactly the opposite. At least Palace seem to be trying to remain in the division by their actions. That said, he was a poor appointment in the first place. West Brom will do the same I think.
Mark_w Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Are they not Pearsons players you are talking about????? Yes and they were brilliant in the Championship, the division they were signed to get us out of. So I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that if Nigel Pearson is actually given some decent money to buy Premier League players, he'll build a decent Premier League team.
DB11 Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 It's called life though mate not everyone is going to agree. I thought forums were there for people to have discussions and to agree and disagree healthy debate and all makes it more interesting. But those that say "Pearson Out" don't debate. People who support Pearson are saying why. Those that want him out are narrow minded and just say "we not winning. we must change manager. K?!" without actually having a debate

The tragedy is that those clubs are playing badly, their players are underperforming and a managerial change could result in better performances, in our case we're trying our best and it still isn't good enough. We need to change the players first then consider the managers position.
v6rat Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Might have a sneaky pound on Royston Keane for Palace. Their barmy enough to give him a try.
