Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Well it is relatively simple really. you judge whether a player is 'proven' based upon the level of football someone has played, and the reaction of their managers to their ability. Maloney has played at a top level for a number of years. He has scored a decent amount of premier league goals, more than our whole squad combined. He has never really looked out of place. Kramaric is just a name, who despite scoring a ridiculousy high amount of goals in a poor league, is more famous at this moment in time for a £10 million signing rather than his footballing ability. In fact....didn't our greatest ever manager sign him? Twice?? But hey, i'm the 'worst poster of the year', so O'neill must have been just as clueless. Alright lad put your tampon back in and stop being saucy
jimmeh Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 This is pretty much a done deal then. Were obvs giving him a wage rise and he wants to live in Midlands.
jimmeh Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Didn't iain hume cost us 750k all them years ago
Deucalion Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 I think I've had an epiphany. The reason there is so much conflict in this group is because there is endless rationalisation about what is inherently irrational. Let's face it, supporting a football club is a ridiculous thing to do. We all have so much better things we could be doing with our time, money and mental energy. So we have a constant to and fro between the ying and yang of rational thought versus irrational support. But...Grewks is still a killjoy. Of course Kramaric is a more exciting signing than Maloney, and no amount of rational thought will convince me otherwise !! Anyway...back into my little hole.
STUHILL Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Not as excited as some for this, but does give us another good option. Similar to our summer signings though where would have been a great signing if we were in the Championship still but seems a pretty average signing for a Premiership club IMO. He can take a hell of a free kick though!
Ric Flair Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 It's as if nobody has seen the abysmal set pieces we take? Gone are the days that you have a player just to take set pieces but we are that bad that we actually have to consider this as a possibility. He's a game changer. Great signing. Best signing of the season this will be.
Buzzell Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Could possibly be that creative spark we have been crying out for.
weller54 Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Get him in and available for Stoke.. We're thin on the ground in midfield!!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 He has scored a decent amount of premier league goals, more than our whole squad combined. To add, this is bang wrong. Like, not even close in terms of numbers, just utterly off target wrong.
theessexfox Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 He's not gonna harm us in any way and who knows he may even help us, NP and his team certainly think so and they've been right about a few of these type of signings; who thought Morgan would be such a first-team regular for us when he first joined? Who thought Hammond would be contributing to PL wins? Who thought Vardy would be a contender for POTS in our record breaking season? It's a small fee, it's not breaking the bank and there's very little risk with potential reward. It's not an exciting signing but it could be a solid one.
NewquayFox Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Great buy if its true, got a feeling that Wood might go to Wigan on loan to say thankyou, Wigan fans on a Twitter wishing Maloney well at Leicester...
Grewks Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 To add, this is bang wrong. Like, not even close in terms of numbers, just utterly off target wrong. Meant top flight not premier league....which is true.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Meant top flight not premier league....which is true. If we're doing that then I meant career goals in competitive games not top flight....which is true.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Meant top flight not premier league....which is true. Also even specifically top flight would be wrong. Can you read a book?
Grewks Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Also even specifically top flight would be wrong. Can you read a book? Struggle to see how our squad has more.... Only nuge, Konch, Was, albrighton, wood and Ulloa would be viable right?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Meant top flight not premier league....which is true. Shaun Maloney - Top flight league goals - 53 Matthew Upson - Top flight league goals - 9 Esteban Cambiasso - Top flight league goals - 69 Marc Albrighton - Top flight league goals - 7 Paul Konchesky - Top flight league goals - 9 David Nugent - Top flight league goals - 11 Marcin Wasilewski - Top flight league goals - 33 Gary Taylor-Fletcher - Top flight league goals - 5 Leonardo Ulloa - Top flight league goals - 23
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Unless, of course - you're discounting Serie A but including the SPL in your logic which would explain how you've managed to come to such an absurd conclusion.
Grewks Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Shaun Maloney - Top flight league goals - 53 Matthew Upson - Top flight league goals - 9 Esteban Cambiasso - Top flight league goals - 69 Marc Albrighton - Top flight league goals - 7 Paul Konchesky - Top flight league goals - 9 David Nugent - Top flight league goals - 11 Marcin Wasilewski - Top flight league goals - 33 Gary Taylor-Fletcher - Top flight league goals - 5 Leonardo Ulloa - Top flight league goals - 6 Fair enough, i was wrong. Would of been nice to see you have the balls to admit you was wrong though....
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Fair enough, i was wrong. Would of been nice to see you have the balls to admit you was wrong though.... How was I wrong? By proving your logic to be absolute guff?
Grewks Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 How was I wrong? By proving your logic to be absolute guff? you were wrong by claiming Maloney.... A) Wasn't proven in the premier league B) Is less proven than Kramaric
Itsthejoeker Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 In for Defoe or Okazaki, ends up with Maloney.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Is he proven in the Premier League though? Proven at what? Taking a good set piece in a team that went down?
