Grewks Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 The Nugent stuff still makes me laugh. Why though? If Konch doesn't score against Villa....Dave would be getting criticized by all for costing us two points.
Bert Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Why though? If Konch doesn't score against Villa....Dave would be getting criticized by all for costing us two points. Because Konch did score so your point is pretty much irrelevant.
Dan Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Nugent will be replaced by Kramaric I feel. Nugent makes us function better but his lack of goals threat at this level is a major concern, hence why we've brought in the Croat.
RowlattsFox Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 You mean short-term right? Signing an almost 32 year old is hardly preparing for the long-term is it? I mean pearson may feels those 2 can do a job for a couple of games but not for the rest of the season. He may seem Maloney as a better option. People saying we should have kept dyer but they are completely different players. Maloney has more technical ability and doesn't rely on pace.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 I actually thought his post above was spot on. How so? Is Maloney proven? Proven at what? Scored a couple of free kicks in an average Wigan side that dropped, that's it.
cjslcfc Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Cheap, technically solid, experienced. Happy enough.
Grewks Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Because Konch did score so your point is pretty much irrelevant. Say's a lot though doesn't it....... Kramaric, Maloney and Okazaki must be linked with us for back-up to nuge then?
Guest MattP Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 I actually thought his post above was spot on. I thought the vast majority of it was. Although I think calling Maloney a proven Premier league player is a bit over the top. What's he done? 2 seasons in which 1 he was part of a side who went down?
ScouseFox Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Grewks is up there for worst poster of the year for anybody with their head screwed on, surely? he threatened to rape my family
Grewks Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 How so? Is Maloney proven? Proven at what? Scored a couple of free kicks in an average Wigan side that dropped, that's it. Maloney is far more proven than Kramaric. In fact, despite you mocking my nugent comments, he is far far more proven than nugent. Actually....Maloney played the same role as nugent when last in the premier leauge, and i dare say scored more goals than nuge will this season.....not bad in an 'average' wigan side.

Unabomber Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 he threatened to rape my family I got accused of something but I forgot what, it was just before the rape comment I think.

How are you basing the criteria within which someone is "proven?" Steve Kabba has more Premier League caps than Kramaric - who would you rather?
ScouseFox Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 did you know Steve is not even Steve kabba's real name. Blokes a ****ing fraud.
cjslcfc Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 He's made 79 PL appearances, scored 14 goals and assisted 12 goals
Grewks Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 How are you basing the criteria within which someone is "proven?" Steve Kabba has more Premier League caps than Kramaric - who would you rather? Well it is relatively simple really. you judge whether a player is 'proven' based upon the level of football someone has played, and the reaction of their managers to their ability. Maloney has played at a top level for a number of years. He has scored a decent amount of premier league goals, more than our whole squad combined. He has never really looked out of place. Kramaric is just a name, who despite scoring a ridiculousy high amount of goals in a poor league, is more famous at this moment in time for a £10 million signing rather than his footballing ability. In fact....didn't our greatest ever manager sign him? Twice?? But hey, i'm the 'worst poster of the year', so O'neill must have been just as clueless.
Grewks Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 He's made 79 PL appearances, scored 14 goals and assisted 12 goals But he's shit compared to Kramaric.....because he cost 9 million less.
Lestoh Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 I honestly can't believe people are complaining about this. 'Proven' isn't about how many PL caps a player has, it's about how well they played. He's not Messi by any stretch of the imagination, but he played in a Wigan team that was in a similar position to us, and he was one of their best players. I'm as excited for Kramarić as the next man, but Maloney for £750k is an absolute bargain.
jimmeh Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Maloney's Magic: From Every Angle // Scotland 1-0…:
cjslcfc Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 But he's shit compared to Kramaric.....because he cost 9 million less. I think he's a decent signing. Nothing more, nothing less. I hardly think he's going to set the world alight but he delivers a good set piece, is actually technically pretty good and has good experience of the league. Most of all though I trust Nige and his scouting team. This could be a very shrewd signing at a price that means it's not really a gamble. There's plenty more reasons to get excited by the Kramaric signing, though.
Daz93 Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Didn't realise he was 31. Would be a good signing though.
