Bert Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 It does make sense though. Nuge, irrelevant of the result, should be criticized for missing 2 relatively simple chances. Konchesky's job is not to score opportunities which are more difficult than his team's strikers are getting. What an idiot Paul Konchesky is for daring to shoot! It makes no sense whatsoever! How can it when a) Konchesky scored b) we won c) not one person knows how that game would've panned out had Konch not scored.
kingfox Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 I really cant see how he's going to fit in unless someones leaving. More likely to be a squad player, and hopefully an impact sub.
AKCJ Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Grewks lowers the IQ of the entire internet every time he posts.
Tielemans63 Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Still struggling to see why people don't trust Nige with signings.^^This. Must admit, it seems a slightly odd one to me but in Nige we trust and he and his team know what they're doing. If Nige thinks he'll add something then I'm sure he will.Think Ric had it right by suggesting he's been brought in for his set piece ability. We are def lacking in that department.
Xen Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Am I excited by this? Not really. Do I think he adds value and experience to the side? Definitely. At the end of the day, less than a million to adds PL experience to a side which it's clear to see is lacking in exactly that makes this deal a no brainer. The lad's a good player and, while he's perhaps unlikely to set the league alight, he's going to give us an extra option, more competition and he knows what its like to fight in a relegation battle. Good signing.
tylesta Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 21:51 ONE IN A MILLION Sky Sources understand that Wigan have agreed a fee with Leicester for transfer of Shaun Maloney. The fee believed to be in region of £1million.
Grewks Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 What an idiot Paul Konchesky is for daring to shoot! It makes no sense whatsoever! How can it when a) Konchesky scored b) we won c) not one person knows how that game would've panned out had Konch not scored. So what you are saying, is that because konchesky scored, all other player performances are irrelevant? 1 goal in open play after 21 matches isn't good enough i'm afraid.
Spence Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Good squad signing, watched some of wig and highlights this season and anything good they do (not a great amount) comes from Maloney.
Ric Flair Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 How has Wasilewski not scored yet for us? He used to get about 10 a season for Anderlecht.
Vlad the Fox Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Wasyl bagged 33 times for Anderlecht? I knew he took a few pens but where's this onion bag knowledge been since he blessed us with his services? I was thinking the same but then realised that our set pieces are so poor that he never gets near anything. Now where can we find a player who can deliver a ball into the box?.... Nope, I've got no idea.
Stadt Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 How has Wasilewski not scored yet for us? He used to get about 10 a season for Anderlecht. In Belgium the average height is 5'10 so he played against shorter players so he out jumped them and scored
Callabinho Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 So what you are saying, is that because konchesky scored, all other player performances are irrelevant? 1 goal in open play after 21 matches isn't good enough i'm afraid. Which is why we've just spent £9 odd million on an apparently unproven striker. Maybe we should have gone for Luke Chadwick?
foxoffderby Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Got to be honest don't know to much about this guy. What are his good and bad points ?
MC Prussian Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 In for Defoe or Okazaki, ends up with Maloney. Potentially saved £2m to £7m in the process. Pearson=UltraLAD.

Giggsy77 Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Maloney is a attacking mid, not a striker. So another striker will still be on the cards.
foxoffderby Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 we've not scored direct from a free kick in a while
queensguardfox Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 we've not scored direct from a free kick in a while Knocky against wednesday i believe? Promotion winning weekend.
Grewks Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Which is why we've just spent £9 odd million on an apparently unproven striker. Maybe we should have gone for Luke Chadwick? Sorry....are you wrongly interpreting that i am disappointed with the signing of Kramaric? I cannot wait to see this lad play. He could potentially be one of the greatest players to ever grace this club, and am delighted and somewhat surprised that Nige has manage to get the deal this far. The fact is though....We have spent £9 million on an unproven striker. So i fail to see what you are trying to prove with your comment.
Nod.E Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Looked a fantastic little player from what I saw of him on MOTD in their last prem season. Remember him being great with the ball at his feet. Brilliant at taking on a man. Will add something different. Another option. Another way we could pick up a few more points. Can't be a bad thing at that price.
Bert Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 So what you are saying, is that because konchesky scored, all other player performances are irrelevant? 1 goal in open play after 21 matches isn't good enough i'm afraid. No. I'm saying your original point was ridiculous.

I, for my part, am going to sit back and relax and let it all unfold for the second part of this season. This whole "but we spent money on an unproven striker" is getting really tedious. Because it's not entirely true. Alright, the Croatian league isn't a good comparison and not very highly regarded and he's not played Premier League football (d'oh), but he's been hailed an exceptional talent and has shown he can cut it on the European stage. He's at the right age and can only improve from hereon. Show a little faith.
Jay89LCFC Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 He was Wigan's best player the season they went down, he is creative and can take a very good set piece. With a transfer price and wages that won't break the bank I can only see this as a positive piece of business
Robin JD Popley Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 He also helped this happen... WHAT A BALL!
