Jimmy Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Yeah but how are we gonna line up? in the same way, but with much better options off the bench
AKCJ Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Good appointment. Won't set the league on fire but will do a job. Has experience of getting out of the shit with Wigan too.
ealingfox Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Am I allowed to say something that isn't a gushing panegyric about him without getting a torrent of abuse as per?
Robin JD Popley Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 We need a battler with the ability to show some flair so he fits the bill perfectly. Certainly compliments who we already have here but with adding something a little different...plus he will give Esteban some rest bite as being the only other person at the club to be able to properly deliver a set piece on more than one occasion per game. (Plus he can score too! Always need a goalscoring midfielder).
john doe Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Just what we need. Look what happened to was with the step up to slower more quality football.
kingfox Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Uninspiring but adds competition and experience which we need. Now please Nigel get some damn defenders.
MHC Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Good signing? Would someone care to elaborate why this is perceived as the case as I am less then enthusiastic about this one.
Banks Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 31 year old winger, why didn't we just keep Dyer. Its a Championship signing, there's a reason why he's at a club 23rd in the league.
lcfcsnow Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 If we're spending 10 million on a forward why not go all out instead of making do with just another championship player. Too many of those have seen us bottom and he's not exactly helping Wigan right now either. One step forward, two steps back.
Narborough_fox Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 £750,000 is an absolute snip. Been one of Scotland's best players in the mini revival since Strachan took over and can play in numerous positions. Premier League experience and won't be on a huge wage. In my opinion, we can't lose on this transfer. If he doesn't perform as well as he can do at least he's added some competition to the squad for not a lot of money. He can take a corner too!
Ricey Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Good squad addition, but worried by the reported long-term contract for a player that won't be cheap in regards to wages and is 32 this month.
Max Power Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 He's cheap, experienced and adds something a bit different to the squad. Not getting my cock out about this signing but a decent addition. Now for the defence...
thybluefox Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Can't say I'm getting excited - but I trust Pearson et al enough do know that he must be worth buying.
Guest MattP Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Don't think he's any better than what we have but at 750,000 it's not a risk in the slightest. Wigan fans seem to think they are getting a good deal. Everyone's a winner.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Good appointment. Won't set the league on fire but will do a job. Has experience of getting out of the shit with Wigan too. Has experience of getting out of the shit - by getting relegated. £750,000 is an absolute snip. In my opinion, we can't lose on this transfer. If he doesn't perform as well as he can do at least he's added some competition to the squad for not a lot of money. He can take a corner too! I could be one of the best player's in Scotland's mini revival.
crisp packet Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Happy with this.(if true?) All these comments regarding Wigan and him not playing and bottom of the league crap, is reading between the lines . Selectively Try these lines. He's a current international with champions league experience, premier league expierience.Cheap and chased by other teams with more stature than ourselves. Now for some defensive expierience please.
MGLCFC Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Not one that makes you want to get down to the KP and be excited about, but I trust Nige. Dean Hammond could be said to be a similar class of player, and he's adapted really well to the Prem.
