GaelicFox Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Since the Liverpool game a month ago 1 We should have at least held Man City ( they are now top of league and soon will be favs) 2 We Should Have got something at West Ham , with a bit of luck because THIER keeper was inspired that day , (they are still doing well) 3 We should have beaten Spurs they now have whacked the league favs Chelsea 5-3 4 we beat Hull , dire game and we were a touch lucky but we got the result 5 backed that win up with a fantastic performance today from 2-0 down at half time , and really we should have beaten a rejuvenated Liverpool 4 weeks after they turned us over So all in all seems a corner has been turned now Surely with a bit of quality bought this month we still have a chance to stay up , we could get this momentum rolling ! I think we could do with a Result Saturday to keep the Buzz going , I know the Cup is a distraction , but a Result would be another momentum push
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Agree apart from West Ham, we were terrible and never looked like threatening apart from the last 10 when they'd taken their foot off the gas.
Manwell Pablo Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Dog against West Ham sorry, City didn't even get out of netural. That aside quite correct. Absolutely robbed today
shailen Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Out performances have been good in every game apart from the Swansea, Southampton and West Ham. But we havent got the points we need, and the ability to grind out results. With the latter improving, we are still some way behind and we need to accumulate points quickly.
Guest Col city fan Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Today was perhaps the first time in ages I've felt that this squad is possible to turning this around. They were quick to the tackle, they were well organised, they made chances, and it's clear they have a large degree of self belief. We were genuinely unlucky not to win that game today. However, I reiterate, losing Schlupp and Mahrez is a big blow. Both are immense at the moment.
BlackburnClaret Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 4 points from 6 games, while its an improvement, "solid" is pushing it.
chicagofox Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 1 win and 1 draw from 5 games isn't exactly good form. But 4 points from 2 away games is.
GaelicFox Posted 1 January 2015 Author Posted 1 January 2015 Dog against West Ham sorry, City didn't even get out of netural. That aside quite correct. Absolutely robbed today I thought until they scored we were well in it at west ham , then lost our way once we went behind , had chances to level , and then ripped into them at end Yea the middle bit where game was lost was dire but we competed at beginning and end and could have nicked a scrappy
GaelicFox Posted 1 January 2015 Author Posted 1 January 2015 4 points from 6 games, while its an improvement, "solid" is pushing it. I suppose I was actually relating the form to the teams we played and what they have achieved as well as ourselves Handicapping our form Solid was pushing it , your right 1 win and 1 draw from 5 games isn't exactly good form. But 4 points from 2 away games is. Very true
cc_star Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 I don't buy into the whole good performances thing, the defeats against Liverpool, Villa etc we were dire and only got a look in at all through the kind of reckless naivety that saw us lose both games anyway and made defeats inevitable Man City was much improved, Pearson finally changed tactically and we played 3 in the middle making it extremely difficult for the Champions to create anything of note West Ham we were poor, only finished the game strongly because they were coasting 2-0 with us doing nothing of note for about 85mins Spurs we were absolutely robbed, if Spurs had of gone home on the end of a 6 -2 hiding they couldn't have argued, we were fantastic Hull - Missed all coverage about the game but apparently we were lucky but hung in there Liverpool - Robbed again, should have gone 2-0 up in first 15mins but ended up the ref gifting them two pens and denying us 1, but we still scored 2 and came back with a great point I think we could do it, but could do with 2 wins and a draw in the next 4 games against Villa, Stoke, Utd & Palace
lgfualol Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Still makes me want to cry reading our results against qpr, west brom, newcastle and sunderland ;_;
deep blue Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Still makes me want to cry reading our results against qpr, west brom, newcastle and sunderland ;_; A crying shame. Had we got just 4 more points from those games then our improved performances of late would be a good base for starting to push us above the pack, but we still have some catching up to do before we get to that point.

RizLCFC Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 We're losing our 2 best and most positive players, it's going to have a massive impact on us.
Saxondale Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Definitely feel we've turned a corner - it had to happen at some point. Clearly we were in a massive rut of bad form, bad luck, low confidence and lacking the knack of beating teams. Today's result was vital. Clearly we should have won the game, but we still managed a point - something we've failed to get in several recent games in which we've also played well.
Dr The Singh Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Unfortunately, you get no points for performances.
Bettsj2 Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Win the next two at home (entirely possibly) and we really might start to look like we could stay up.
Bert Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Agree apart from West Ham, we were terrible and never looked like threatening apart from the last 10 when they'd taken their foot off the gas.Even though we destroyed them right up until they went one nil up?
MHC Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 If it wasn't for us making the odd silly little individual error and being terribly unlucky in a majority of our games we would be sitting comfortably in mid table currently
