Leicester City v Aston Villa match thread

I said I was surprised he'd been picked ahead of De Laet, I didn't say he wasn't good enough... :sweating:

VERY happy to hold my hands up and admit that I'm glad he's on the pitch now though - although he hasn't exactly been fantastic in that first half aside from the goal.

Nuge's miss isn't as bad as it looks. Keeper was right on top of it so angle was closed down. And although Knocky was in a better position it would take a very brave striker to dummy it there as he would have been mercilessly slated for not doing his job if the ball didn't end up in the net. He has had a very good half imo, link up play has been excellent and he might have scored a screamer.

Yeah, I think apart from his misses Nuge has been playing well. The usual stuff from him plus good link up but he's a striker and we need him to be taking chances like those.

Struggling on the wings with a lack of pace, Nugent and Ulloa running themselves into the ground getting into the channels. They'll be dead by 70 minutes!

Villa have been terrible but getting we're getting the job done again. Just need to play like that a again second half and we've got this wrapped up. I.e not no defaulting to 4-5-1 to try and keep them out for the last 20 minutes.

Good goal and glad it came from him, shame he persists with the long ball.

Knocky is playing well when he has the ball, not trying too hard with the skill but pulls it out, maybe playing too safe.

James hasn't been great, really negative and slowing down play as he can't pass forward, rather he gave the forwards and wingers something to chase than putting pressure on the defence and Hamer.

Nuge getting the chances and getting in positions to take them is great to see, shame no return yet.  Albrighton is having a good game.

Deserve the lead on the strength of play and humble pie is now being eaten thanks to Konchesky..... ;0)

MPH get a life boy, trawling through all the posts ffs..... ;0/

lol

I just love it when people put the downers on before a ball is even kicked and then show themselves up!

These are absolutely shite, if we don't win this we're fvcked.

That's a bit unfair on how well we are playing.

Half the league are that bad which is why two or three wins and we could be 12th-14th

Villa needs to open up more. If they do so LCFC will score from a counter.

If Nuge is nowhere near the ball. obrana.gif

EDITA: Just joking. The guy is playing a great team role today. Hope he puts one in.

I don't think we're struggling on the wings, we've put in some great balls. Anyway we have Vardy on the bench - he could get a few chances today.

Lack of pace? Albrighton?

The issue is the Wingers are getting doubled up on. By the time we lacklusterly get the ball across to the wing albrighton and knockaert are pinned to the byline with 2 players ahead of them.

In fairness, we molested Villa in that half. They had a lot of possession in the middle but barely threatened, every time we got forward we looked threatening. A win today with WBA and Hull playing each other, Palace with a tough match against Spurs as well as Burnley playing QPR and Sunderland already beaten could be massive. It'd put us 2 points from 15th if things stay as they are, that's how close it is down there.

First time I've seen us dominate a game against premier league opposition, very good.

Should have scored at least 2 from open play and had a penalty denied.

Villa carry a threat but can't carve out clear chances or finish.
