Benguin Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Really excited about seeing him play 90 mins. Midfield was dreadful today so he didn't get much of a look in. That said his foot work, confidence and composure was great today. The whole stadium lit up when he came on and if only he had got a better delivery to him or more game time I felt he'd have scored. Quality signing.

I felt if Marc came on instead if Tom, he could have got some decent balls. No disrespect to Tom but I don't feel he is the answer to a 1 goal down game.

GingerrrFox Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 I fear that he will be wasted on us. He finds little pockets of space to receive the ball and instead it gets pumped 40 yards forward. He's not an out and out striker he is more of a Mata/Oscar style of player.

I'm not knocking him, I don't think anyone can make a fair judgement on 25 minutes of football when we were playing shit and he barely touched the ball. What I'm saying is people who saw a magnificent player who's 'Chelsea quality' in those twenty minutes, saw what they wanted to see, not what was actually happening, which was our new signing not really having a chance to do anything, and looking fairly competent on the few occasions he got the ball.

To be honest though I think nige will get him on the weights, Look at lloyd dyer, Drinkwater, James, Nugent, Wes, Konchesky, schlupp and more.. All have significantly bulked up from when they first came to us or got the break. wouldn't be surprised to see him get alot stronger soon.

Was disappointed that we didn't change shape or anything when he came on, it was obvious he wasn't going to score with the same formation.

LCCFox96 Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 His movement was his most impressive attribute for me today. He took up and received the ball in some promising positions. A tough debut for him coming on just after going 0-1 down. I thought he did alright.
