Moonstomp Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 So Stoke have Bojan who can make a difference in a poor/average team and most of the other established teams have someone like that .... Even West Brom currently have Berahino but who have we got with that extra level of class that can REALLY change a game? Mahrez has shown flashes of it but not consistently enough yet but if we keep him he may turn into that player but whilst we have an hard working (mostly) bunch of players we have certainly been light in real quality. Esteban of a few years ago maybe but not regularly enough now.
Stadt Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Quite often this forum collectively underrates some of our players/manager whilst overrating other teams. We're mostly shit but the sides around us aren't much better.
foxfanazer Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 On the stoke forum some think he's better than Ozil and wait for it.........David Silva!
Corky Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Stoke are an established Premier League side who can now attract players like that with little fear of relegation. They couldn't six years ago. We should remember we are a new side and attracting top players is extremely difficult. Hull were being built up after their summer recruitment and they look as lost as we do, especially their much vaunted centre backs Davies and Dawson.
EnglishOxide Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 It's Mahrez. If he was playing it might have been us that won 1-0.
Mark Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 David Nugent. Well that's who we have play that position.
Countesthorpe Fox 1884 Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Dean Hammond, He has been our most consistant performer this season. may not get enough credit he deserves, he does the dirty work breaking up the midfield play etc
cjslcfc Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Dean Hammond, He has been our most consistant performer this season. may not get enough credit he deserves, he does the dirty work breaking up the midfield play etc I'm not quite sure you've got the idea of the thread. Hammond is hardly a game changer is he?! For what it's worth I think Mahrez is our player like that. I think he's the first player at Leicester in a long time where when he gets the ball a lot of the crowd expect something good to happen and get excited.
MHC Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Hopefully Kramaric can be that guy. "Help us Andrej Kramaric, you are our only hope" - Princess Leia

Look at the points we've picked up with him playing and without him playing, if we're talking in terms of consistency it's got to be him he's the on consistant player in the team this season
lgfualol Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 On the stoke forum some think he's better than Ozil and wait for it.........David Silva! To be fair most of this forum would say something similar. We all thought Vardy should get an England call up after Man U
Moonstomp Posted 18 January 2015 Author Posted 18 January 2015 Quite often this forum collectively underrates some of our players/manager whilst overrating other teams. We're mostly shit but the sides around us aren't much better. Agreed
kingfox Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Who is that? Our saviour Borek Dockal. 24 assists last season, 9 so far this season as well as 8 goals.
cjslcfc Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Look at the points we've picked up with him playing and without him playing, if we're talking in terms of consistency it's got to be him he's the on consistant player in the team this season Yes but the OP was talking about someone who can really change a game like Bojan did yesterday. Someone who can take a game that is in the balance with very little happening and turn it into three points with a goal or something that leads to a goal. Hammond isn't that guy. He's consistent and it looks like we play better with him in the team but he isn't even close to being a game changer. Mahrez is the closest thing we have to a game changer and he's not nearly clinical enough when given a chance to shoot. However, he turns opposition defenders inside out and is able to create that chance to change a game: Nugent at Chelsea, Vardy at QPR to name a couple. We don't have a player like Bojan but, then again, we have only just got to the Premiership and it takes a few years in this league to be able to attract that sort of player. Maybe we have that player in Kramaric but it's a bit too much to expect him to adapt and be a game changer straight away.
fleckneymike Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Bojan is a 'freak' signing. His career stalled spectacularly after his departure from Barcelona, when Stoke bought him in the summer there wasn't much of a queue for his signature because he'd so spectacularly underperformed for so long. Barca wanted rid because despite selling him for $12m they'd had to buy him back for $13m, and were unable to offload him to Ajax. Stoke, it would now appear, have signed an absolute bargain.
sdb Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 If we stay in the Prem for 5 years then we'll possibly get one. I'm not sure how we can expect one right now...
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Hasn't Bojan scored 3 goals this year? One more than Mahrez who may well have more goals than Bojan if he wasn't in Africa. How many assists does he have? We've just paid the thick end of £10m for another game changer, daft post, Stoke aren't better than us because of Bojan.
Kitchandro Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Look at the points we've picked up with him playing and without him playing, if we're talking in terms of consistency it's got to be him he's the on consistant player in the team this season Nah you don't get the thread.
MHC Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Our saviour Borek Dockal. 24 assists last season, 9 so far this season as well as 8 goals. How is he our saviour? He isn't even a Leicester player and probably never will be.
Nalis Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 Bojan is class act, no doubt. However, he is a bit of a glorified Dos Santos.
lcfcsnow Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 They somehow got him for €1.8 million. A little more than we were going to pay for 32 year old Shaun Maloney . And that's the difference, look to the championship, return to the championship.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 We could stay in The Premier League for another 10 years and not sign someone who could do what Bojan was doing yesterday and has been doing this season. Put simply, he was class and we can't expect to have similar ability in our side.
