Bryn Posted 7 February 2015 Author Posted 7 February 2015 Was eagerly anticipating the next doomed thread. Well done for doing it so quick. So many teams are awful this season. If we're close to safety in 3 games time then we have a chance. Hopefully now you've officially declared it you won't say it again until it happens. Just going to try and enjoy the football, we don't play bad stuff to be honest. We were enjoyable to watch today in a lot of ways, the goal had some kind of forcefield around it.
Dr What? Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 surely no matter what....we are relying on the teams around the bottom lying down and helping us stay up....look at what Hull nearly did today for instance....very worrying times....another saturday when if things had gone right we could have crawled off the bottom...thats not going to be the case for a while.
Bilo Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I'm sorry to say, but you're right. You can point to the three point gap all you like, but we're clearly not good enough for this division. We have Arsenal, Everton and Man City to visit in the next three games, which will certainly bring about 0 points and very likely damage to our goal difference as we're going to get tonked, followed by the visit of a Hull side who will nick a 1-0 win and effectively end our misery. I honestly can't wait for this season to be over. Sack Pearson? If the owners were going to do it, they should have done at the start of December to give the new man a transfer window. No manager in his right mind would take us on now and we just have to try to go down with a bit of dignity.
Zapp Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I am the eternal optimist but even I feel we are doomed now. I just don't get why he couldn't see that Ulloa was having such an off game and should have gone off at half time. Maybe he needs to go back in the stands. Hate to break it to you but I don't think you're an eternal optimist
Bryn Posted 7 February 2015 Author Posted 7 February 2015 I wouldn't sack Pearson either. We'll retain a good core of players and he'll have them playing well next season. Need a few young players in there, a left back chiefly and some wingers. There's no evidence he's lost the dressing room.
The Guvnor Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 We have chances but fail to dispatch time and time again so frustrating and things are looking desperate.
Merging Cultures Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Until mathematically we are down I'll keep the faith. But that was disappointing. I like NP, but i think this is poor management. Best team: Hamer Simpson - Was - Huth - Schlupp Albrighton - Hammond - James - Mahrez Nuge - Kramaric When Kram came on he was too far back for me. Had to go looking.
v6rat Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 If you don't beat the shit around you, there's only one final outcome I'm afraid.

Going by performances from villa, hull, burnley & qpr, neither are they. At least 2 will survive
FoxyPalace.com Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 This is all our own doing. Poor summer buys with NO premier league experience. The Midfield is poor and we cant even pass the ball without losing it constantly. The Thai owners are to blame, Pearson should have been sacked back in November. Poor team in the big boys league.

Arriba Los Zorros Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Hate to break it to you but I don't think you're an eternal optimist I am, and for the first time this season, think we're down. Proud of the lads for keeping trying and persisting with passing and Pearson for his persistence, we aren't good enough and I've only just realised. Gutting but at least we've had a season in the Prem. Need to keep Pearson, don't care what anyone says, this isn't his fault
Brooksy Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 That was the chance considering the games we've got coming up. Away to City, Arsenal and Everton aswell as Chelsea at home. We'll be 7-8 points adrift after that run, no coming back from that I'm afraid. Gutted.

The owners have been fantastic for us but you're right. They should have acted early. It was quite obvious some time ago Pearson didnt have what it takes. Such a shame. 10 years out of the top flight and we're going down with a whimper.
Bilo Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Not good enough for the division? Going by performances from villa, hull, burnley & qpr, neither are they. At least 2 will survive In our five games against those teams, we've won two, drawn one and lost two. I'm sorry; but if you aren't getting a minimum 10 points from those fixtures, you're putting a lot of pressure on much more difficult games against decent opposition.
shailen Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 We have to get some points from the big teams. We cannot lose the next three games.
Guest Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 No coming back from this. No because we're only 1 win from safety. If we need 3 pts on the last day to survive we're not out of it and you think we are with many games left.

Sir Shep Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 The thing is, if/when we do go down, I can't see us bouncing straight back up. Norwich, Cardiff, Wigan, Fulham etc all struggling. It's so depressing but we may just start to play better against the better teams and we can still win the FA cup!
DB11 Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I admit that I have lost hope of staying up after today. I'm still pro Pearson though - we can regroup in the summer and Pearson can lead us to promotion, which is when we can consolidate our place with players a bit wiser and a manager a bit more experienced of the league.
MC Prussian Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Make that 95% Can I also throw in a random number? 3.1359302847566
kristianity77 Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I don't even think it will be close. We will be down and adrift from safety by about 10 points come the end of the season.
weller54 Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 We have to get some points from the big teams. We cannot lose the next three games. Argh.. We will I'm afraid!!!!

Yes lets hope he wins promotion next season, the moment we are promoted Pearson is sacked before he ***** it up again.
