Weller in Tights Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Good line-up. Hopefully Pearson sees what everyone else sees and plays this Pearson clearly DOES NOT see what everyone else sees. He changed keepers from Hamer to the only Aussie that can't hold on to a ball and he persists with Konch.
weller54 Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Can somebody please tell me. What exactly are Pearson's good points? Pass!
EGBFitness Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Pearson clearly DOES NOT see what everyone else sees. He changed keepers from Hamer to the only Aussie that can't hold on to a ball and he persists with Konch. And that's the unfortunate thing with our club at the minute. Everyone can agree how poor we are, were are vulnerabilities are and how we can improve but people are still adamant that Pearson is the right man for the job Pass! We couldn't even make a 5 yrd pass today
Jogia Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Embarrassing performance today from the lads! We needed someone to support kramaric, drop the ageing shit konch and play ulloa as second striker! My lineup for the everton game: Hamer RDL Huth Morgan Schlupp Cambiasso James Drinkwater Mahrez Kramaric Ulloa To cheer your mood up I got a video of us Leicester fans today at Villa Park
Ghost Troop Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 2nd half we surrendered. Too many of our players have a poor first touch that results in either giving the ball up or passing to a colleague already under pressure. Too many shit corners that don't clear the first defender, too many passes followed by an aimless hump upfield. No guile or craft, fewvintelligent runs and too many defensive errors/errors of judgement. Villa were their usual shit selfes 1st half and we shoulf have buried them but we couldn't. We lack real Prem quality in too many areas on and off the pitch.
Mike Oxlong Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 yeah because he tells them to misplace passes doesnt he. So in your opinion just what is he accountable for?
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Can somebody please tell me. What exactly are Pearson's good points? He will get a big pay out when he is sacked? . . .
NewburyFox Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Absolutely shocking - I can't watch long ball like that every week. How many lumps up field did Kramaric win against their two tall CBs? Must be less than three. The players look completely devoid of confidence and usually looking to get rid at every opportunity. We stopped even looking for the pass, players (usually the fullbacks) were stood in acres of space but we still went route 1 to our 5ft 10 striker. I was expecting Schwarzer to improve our distribution and actually look for a pass, but even he just goes long. It's horrendous to watch. I can't quite believe that Jeff played 90 minutes considering his first touch deserted him and he started playing with his head down, while Albrighton ran up and down the touchline for nearly the entire second half and didn't even come on. It's piss-poor managing. I also can't quite believe that Wes is getting priority over Wasyl. It's incomprehensible. I get that a manager feels he needs to back his captain, but it's quite plain to everybody now that Wes is out of his depth. It's nothing to be ashamed of - he's not shit, he's not a donkey etc etc, he's just simply not good enough for the PL. Most players aren't, but it's hurting the team that he keeps playing over Wasyl, who has done brilliantly. If we're going to persist with 3 CBs (which is another debate) then it has to be Wasyl - Huth - Upson. At the end of the game I wanted Pearson out, but the lack of alternatives worries me and I still think he'd be our best bet if we go down. But I don't think he'll keep us up. So it's a tricky decision, and one I'm glad I'm not making.
SpacedX Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Kramaric's a player who likes to drop in, carry the ball, and make something happen for others or most likely for himself. Ulloa is a player who's first touch has been non-existant, has very little composure, and who's most redeeming feature is poaching, or using a head in the box. Kram behind Ulloa, or Nugent behind Kram. This was my suggestion in the 'team for Villa thread'...which isn't far off what is currently being suggested on the pre-Everton thread albeit with a W/B system and the thee CB's of Huth Was and Upson. Posted 13 February 2015 - 09:11 PM No need to play three centre halves against Villa...no benefit. Hamer De laet Moore Waz Schlupp (it works) Hammond Cambiasso Albrighton Mahrez (Trust me on this) Ulloa Krameric The main battle I had was persuading the Schlupp and Konch fanboys that he's be better deployed as LB or WB where he's very comfortable. Regarding Ulloa - you can only go on current form so based upon that, RedSox and St.Albans Fox - I concede that you are probably right. I will ignore last season at Brighton because it counts for sod all in the Premiership. But, I disagree, he does in fact have a good first touch, look no further than the game at the Britannia. You say "Kramaric's a player who likes to drop in, carry the ball, and make something happen for others or most likely for himself." Today he was all things to all men when I couldn't give a shit what 'he likes to do' - irrespective of playing to an individuals style and strength..he is quality and he should have been in the box. It was immediately obvious that he was starved. Leo has come into criticism on this forum for dropping back too deep to try and win possession...which is precisely what Krameric was doing today. Leo can win balls in the air, and he could hold the ball well for Brighton - although I accept he had the time which he simply doesn't have in the premiership. Kram's goal today illustrated how dangerous he is lurking round the box instead of running the channels which he was initially doing against Stoke with the absence of Mahrez - and today (given that Mahrez didn't bother turning up). The guy's a predator and we need him to remain in the space that a centre forward should be. We also desperately needed Albrighton to start today...and for the remainder of the season. Switch Riyad to the left and Jeff to replace Konch.
orangecity23 Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Match was shit, result depressing. Had a look at the other results, and saw that Bradford had knocked out Sunderland. Read the match report, and after looking at the lineups and subs, came to an even more depressing realisation. Alan Sheehan is in the Quarter Finals, and we are not. Humbug!
Raw Dykes Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 I don't want him out but today lies with Pearson. To make one change - ONE CHANGE - when Schlupp and Mahrez were a ****ing embarrassment whilst Albrighton sits on his arse is useless from him. Schwarzer is ****ing tits, too - Wes and Simpson can bollocks. I agree with all of this except the bit about Schwarzer. He's not tits! Far from it. He's past it and should be dropped. Hamer should be starting. He needs to work on his distribution, but he's our best keeper at the mo. Morgan, Schwarzer and Simpson all need dropping. It feels like everyone but Pearson can see this.
narboroughblue Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Well that was truly woeful and frustrating. Surprised with the 5 at the back decision but was annoyed at the choice of full/wing backs. Both are not good enough going forward and resulted in us playing a flat back 5 which then gave us a lack of options the other way. MJ or EC got the ball and it was 5 v 10 ahead of them, no wonder we couldn't keep it. Been a Pearson fan the whole time but even I can't give many reasons to keep him other than lack of alternatives. Then I think surely someone else can do a better job. Villa did a job on Mahrez too which nullified him and poor Kramaric must have a sore neck from the lumped service he endured all afternoon. just terrible.
st albans fox Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Amidst all the doom and gloom, two things overlooked A). We nearly scored first box contact from a corner B) Matty James nearly scored To be fair, both unlucky . will we get to qpr at home with either of these particular 'monkey's' off our backs?
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Keep walking Pearson, had enough now. For those saying "oh but he got us up", there is no time for sentimentality - we live in the present, not the past; he gets paid a handsome enough wage as it is.
STUHILL Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Awful display. Should have made changes from the Arsenal game and changed the system. Was there for the taking. Villa are awful... yet they still beat us. Reality hurts. Not sure what can be done from here. Need to change the system and players again, yet another roll of the dice and see if we get lucky! Some positives today were James and Kramaric. Cambiasso unfortunately had too many stray passes but I can see him building a decent partnership with James. I actually thought we missed Nugent's energy in the final 3rd today. Also thought he would have been a perfect game for Albrighton and also an out of form Vardy to try ignite his season. Can't defend Pearson today and do think his decisions or lack of, cost us the game and a quarter final FA Cup spot. I think it is too late to change manager now and there just aren't many good managers available either. Stick with him, and pray for a big change of fortune!
lestajigs Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Cannot believe just how negative we were, was PEARSON playing for the 0.0 or something? Dreadful approach
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 15 February 2015 Posted 15 February 2015 Some people are going on like we've been beaten by a non-league side. Villa are still a premiership team with a few players that can be dangerous, and if you've been watching them this season you'll have noticed that they have done what we've done in many games; squandered chances and had nothing to show for their moments of positive or attacking play. According to Squawka they've created only 2 fewer chances than us in the entirety of this season. The way some of you are talking it's like we've just been pasted by pub team.

Swiss_tony Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Of course I watched it. But what about my post makes that relevant question anyway? well villa were rubbish and we should've beaten them.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 well villa were rubbish and we should've beaten them. Why should we? We're bottom of the league and in many areas they have performed better than us this season. Did you not read my post or what? They have had just 2 fewer chances than us all season, the poor goals-scored stat for them does not reflect the extent of their attacking play. I'm not saying on the day they were amazing because clearly they weren't and they didn't have to work massively hard to beat us, but I don't get where this sense of entitlement comes from.
