EastAnglianFox Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 So so very sad. Makes me so very embarrassed in my own over the top reactions when we lose, when at times like this you realise it is just a game of football. I shall raise a drink to you tonight...rest in peace my fellow Fox.
Carter90 Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 To those who knew him, knew he was Leicester through and through. He will be missed dearly. Saddened by the news. The kindest of people. One day Terry, it WILL have our name on it. RIP.
LCFC Rennie Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 RIP. Can I ask, what was the Bernard Murphy situation?
MC Prussian Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 He's been officially named: http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Tributes-paid-Leicester-City-fan-died-walking/story-26065804-detail/story.html
Tom's Pasta Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Rest in peace fellow blue, gone way too soon
ToffeeBlue Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 I just wanted to add my condolences to those already posted. 48 is no age to go. Football becomes irrelevant at times like this. My thoughts are with his family and friends. RIP from an Everton fan.
Birrt Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Bernard 'Yifter' Murphy - Everton FC Blue Kipper Site for Evertonians www.vintagebluekipper.com/obituaries/bernard_murphy.htm Leicester City fans from fanzine "Bentleys Roof" need congratulating for the work they have put in to keep the memory of Bernard 'Yifter' Murphy alive. Together ... Sorry not sure how to link the web page automatically-we'll worth a read at some point and on a very sad day for Terry and his family and friends it shows true camaraderie and the dignity of real football supporters especially those of Leicester City. Reading all the posts so far Terry deserves to be remembered .
MHC Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 What terribly tragic news. A huge Leicester supporter I'm sure, you did the club proud my fellow Leicesternite and I would love it if the players made a real fight of staying up in your honour. Thoughts go to his family.
Voll Blau Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Heart sank when I heard the rumour waiting for the train at Kirkdale. 48 an' all, no age. Tragic.
cambridgefox Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 How very sad, only 5 years older than me.Thoughts with his family and friends.
LCFCSOULBOY Posted 23 February 2015 Posted 23 February 2015 Sad news for the Fox's family. Condolences to his family and may God keep him safe. Hope Heaven has the games on in heaven for him. Rest In Peace
jonthefox Posted 23 February 2015 Posted 23 February 2015 Does anyone know which coach he was on? One of the ausden Clark ones I heard.
Marmite Posted 23 February 2015 Posted 23 February 2015 RIP Terry. It really makes you just stop and think that there are more important things than football
LCCFox96 Posted 23 February 2015 Posted 23 February 2015 Always sad news to hear of a fan passing away. RIP.
Craig Posted 23 February 2015 Posted 23 February 2015 Such sad news. Hope we do him proud for the rest of the season. RIP.
StanSP Posted 23 February 2015 Posted 23 February 2015 RIP. Can I ask, what was the Bernard Murphy situation? March 20th, 2004. Leicester at home to Everton. An extremely windy day. Bernard Murphy was walking towards the ground and was struck on the head by some debris from another building and unfortunately passed away due to it. To our club's credit, and I think it's pretty amazing, we send Murphy's family flowers and give a telephone call to let them know he's still in their thoughts each year on the day of his death. For all the shit our club went through and sometimes still goes through, it is genuinely gestures like this that make this club worth loving.

Didn't they invite his family down as their guests for the day on the first day of this season, as it was the first time the two clubs had met here since, also a service at the garden as well. As our current owners weren't around at the time, I think this alone shows what people we have at our club now.

The club also invited him to a game vs Wolves (?) at one point, too, so they could see the memorial and gave them a tour of the stadium and treated them with top hospitality.
Fox92 Posted 24 February 2015 Posted 24 February 2015 Seen the article on Leicester Mercury. Didn't know him by name but having seen his picture I've seen him at home and away games before. In fact, I think he sat near me at home games.
Patrick Posted 24 February 2015 Posted 24 February 2015 RIP to a fellow Fox. Situations like this transcend football results.
