I'm not surprised because we didn't play a diamond at the World Cup at all. We basically played a 4-2-4 at the World Cup, it was mental.

I know we've not got an abundance of centre backs but the bloke is a clogger and about 32 - he's not getting any better. Time to give jones or smalling a run alongside Cahill. Or maybe even Carrick. Dan Posted 31 March 2015 Posted 31 March 2015 We could play a half decent counter attacking team or as a high pressing energetic team but instead we see a technically limited midfield play a half-baked possession game, we need an actual style of play. Fully agree with that. Think we try and emulate the likes of Germany, Spain, Italy etc... yet it just doesn't look natural. They don't look particularly sharp or comfortable in it with the exception of a couple. I'd go up the counter attacking route personally. We could hurt anyone with some of those players.
