Obama or McCain?

I'm currently living with some "Yanks" and I'd go with neither candidate. You have to ask yourself whether they're actually capable of tackling the current issues like stock market breakdown, foreclosures, mortgage dilemma, debt, threat of inflation, working poor, education, welfare, etc.

Ralph Nader speaks sense. Unfortunately, he's not fancied by the media.

i would vote for the white one :giggle:

And that's funny because? :dunno:

In addition to the OP, McCain also bangs on about how he's NOT another George Bush, me thinks he doth protest too much. However Obama seems a tad smug to me but is possibly the best candidate. I'm glad I don't have to make this decision though, for some it's like having the unenviable task of deciding between Gordon Brown and David Cameron >_<

There is a reason, and a bloody good reason, not to vote for McCain - Sarah Palin.

That 'woman' fills me with dread.

I'd vote Borak McCain!!

America like the us needs change, it has nothing to do with race, Obama will heal alot of rifts the republicans have created, that is sure to be a positive thing!!

Obama sounds like The Rock, what more do you need?

i was watching the last debate last night and i must agree, he does sound like the rock, it was awsome! I loved the question dodging though, a question was something about there 1st term and they both answered with "in the next 10 years" you won't be there in 10 years you prat!

I'd vote Obama though as J.M's jaw is a little bit weird for me, kind of a square and odd, plus his eyes look like he may explode when in a stressful situation

From what I've seen of the campaign, McCain seems more focussed on badmouthing Obama and not concentrating on the proper issues that need addressing.

I'm not in deep with all the political stuff, but whoever gets it is in for a very rough ride.

I have a slight preference for McCain because I'm right wing by nature but I'm not that bothered either way.

All the people who have strong feelings on this I'd just like to ask (American posters/residents excluded) which policies in particular are you in favour of or against?

Not so much strong feelings but i quite like MCain on his energy policy where as Obama was a bit meh, but you would hardly vote for him just for that!

McCain.

Although there are many saying he's not as prepared to deal with the American problems, I think he is... what is glaringly obvious though is that Obama is the better public speaker... does that make him a better leader with better policies? No. I also don't like the way he's just blasting his way through the ranks... it's not on. He's got very little experience at all in dealing with major policies and passing bills etc. which is worrying considering he's seemingly about to become the President of the most powerful country in the world. I was also watching Panorama the other day and one person summed it up perfectly about Obama and his speeches, he was mesmerized by him when he was speaking but after, when looking at the transcript of it, he contradicted himself on many issues showing that he is a very good public speaker, but when it comes down to it, he's nothing but hot air and there isn't any real substance whereas McCain, from what I've read and seen of him, is trying to put across a firm set of plans to deal with the problems and how to reform America... and I really don't think that anyone is the next Bush... McCain seems far more knowledgeable and intelligent than Bush... not hard really but still, the point is, is that, once you remove the thousands of screaming fans and the wishy washy speeches by both, it's the substance that matters, and for me, McCain seems to be the one with the better plans than Obama who, for me, I still don't know exactly what he plans to do when in office.

I know many people will disagree with me but then that's your opinion, this is mine. Don't beat me down too hard for it... :)

Obama. He's certainly a far better prospect than anything we've got lined up in this country, to be honest.

The thought of choosing between Brown and Cameron inspires me with the want to emigrate.
