  1. The South American v Europe games are the only reason worth watching. That and the support from the African sides. Last night's game like one of the old Intercontinental Cup games
  2. Well FIFA cut their nose off by restricting it two teams per country. They'd have got Liverpool in but ended up with Salzburg
  3. Game moved by two days to Sunday now!! Still playing the season on 22nd June!!
  4. Quite excited for Friday at Headingly.
  5. Sampdoria won the first leg of their relegation play-off 2-0. This is to the background of Brescia sadly going pop. While Salterniana, the opponents of Sampdoria, are desperately trying to get a replay/rearrangement of the play-out because apparently their squad is suffering from good poisoning. This is excellent by the way about Sampdoria 90/91 season and consequences. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Good-Season-Marco-Ponti/dp/B0F87VQJV4 I actually found it quite upsetting at the end due to Vialli and his passing.
  6. Anyone considering a Serie A trip, very useful information here - https://calcioengland.com/2025/06/16/serie-a-key-dates-2025-26/ Be warned though very much like the Premier League. They are normally on time with their first set of dates but this falters as the season goes on.
  7. Mum’s had enough then
  8. Played Sevilla in 2022. 15k attendance apparently.
  9. I have finally started chipping away at times after injury/fatigue. Did really well at Brauny PR on Saturday. Sub 25. I have started to be quite boring and make sure the night before I eat decent / drink well.
  10. These fixtures haven't sold well for a very long time. The club should look at them as a loss leader. Take a financial hit to have it sold out - push the fanzone, make it a community day, possible double header with the Women's team, really use it as an opportunity to get access for the game out of there. They won't though - either they don't want to push it or the powers that be above their heads simply don't want to get something going.
  11. One that sends himself a message. What's app messages you send have a green background / on the right of the screen!
  12. But they are burning time and that’s time your rivals are so far down the line with planning. What intrigues me is that if we fairly assume that FFP is the issue, there is very little noise about us selling a player to comply
  13. Premier League clause more than likely than anything else sadly
  14. Players coming out of the tunnel as individuals in a basketball / ice hockey style. Nonsense
  15. I’d suggest the radio silence is a calculated effort not to be recorded and therefore their own words used against them.
  16. Wife works a 4.5 day week - but same hours, thirty minutes either side of the day or a shorter lunch. She thinks its really good
  17. Bad decision by Cole. Gained nothing by challenging for the ball. But gave a ref a decision to make. The rush of blood to the head so often associated with his career
  18. Of course we’ve allowed that Notts lardarse to get them back in the game. Awful stroke by Kimber
  19. Literally what was mentioned at the FCC. Club have let the women’s team down in terms of support to build crowds. Other clubs achieving five figures. No absolute effort to make a particular game a showpiece on an international weekend, or a double header or similar
  20. They effectively are there. The atmosphere of the women’s games is a very similar vibe and the fanzone works far better at those games
  21. I hate to be that person but it would not have been Rooney. LCFC were in the Southern section of the reserve league during that period and then King Power Stadium was open in 2002. Everton Reserves Games below https://www.toffeeweb.com/season/01-02/reserves.asp - 2001/02 https://www.toffeeweb.com/season/00-01/reserves.asp - 2000/01
  22. Bit strange for me. Hardly pushing the club on but maybe a sign the budget isn't that big.
  23. In which case, it would be a shit competition and something like the Football League Trophy
  24. The rule about passage to the 3rd Round was in place back when we won the League Cup in 1997. Hence a Third Round loss to Grimsby. The Preliminary Round is something with a history which has cropped up when clubs qualified via the Fair Play League. People are talking as if these were not in place years ago rather than the current period of the 'Big 6'. Not all clubs qualifying for Europe have the squad depth. In the last five years alone, Palace, Forest, Leicester, Brighton, West Ham, and to a lesser extent Villa and Newcastle have qualified for Europe. There's even examples of Birmingham, Wigan and Ipswich doing it as Championship clubs hence a Third Round bye is quite sensible for those in particular.
  25. Off Glasgow for a stag soon. Happy to hear shouts of pubs. Got a list already but word of mouth recommends always the best.
