  1. Who the hell is Joe Jacobson? Presumably the aura he is talking about is Wout Faeces
  2. Doing nothing about it is actually the best thing you can do.
  3. @FoyleFoxYou may already be aware but you can install WhatsApp on PC too. I did the same for my parents so they can video call my sister in Australia. Bit easier for them with diminshing eyesight than on a phone.
  4. Nothing like ban complaints and man baby handbags in forum support for a good laugh
  5. Yeah I'm inclined to agree. His engineer said Lando was avoiding Max and almost made it sound like he knew he was going to hit Oscar but I don't think that was the case. Not sure Lando could do much else really and I'm sure Oscar would've made the same move into the corner if the shoe was on the other foot.
  6. Most annoying thing about him for me is his interviews and the shite he comes out with. All managers talk platitudes and cliches it's the nature of interviewing everyone after every bloody game but the bloke never seems to offer up any humility or introspection and wreaks of self-preservation based nonsense like Brendan did. As noted above, their best skill is selling themselves, in the first few roles getting the role is half the battle because once they're in they're getting paid their entire contract regardless of circumstance. It's only now that the pair of them are really past their sell by date and on their way down the pyramid rather than up.
  7. I imagine we'll be talking to the NFL extensively about this. It started as one game here, and is now games in Brazil, Germany, Ireland and the UK. It has worked very well for them financially even though some of the games have been terrible. They will make a shedload from this from all the fans outside the respective countries and they will extend it, no doubt about it. I can't believe the weakness of the opening statement above. It's disappointing but entirely predictable. We don't matter anymore and it is patently clear none of the governing bodies give a toss.
  8. I hope the last bit is satire but I fear not.
  9. I don't agree, and I think you are taking for granted the fact this lot actually look like a team. We were historically bad last year, we looked utterly lost. We looked like 11 blokes just gathered on a pitch, no togetherness, no confidence, no direction. We've arguably got more talent than any other team in the league despite some glaring weak spots, but I think it's been taken for granted that Marti has turned the ship around. Confidence, togetherness and hard work go a hell of a long way, I find it baffling that of all the fanbases that should never underestimate it, we often seem to ignore the role it plays. There's a long way to go and plenty of room for improvement, but things feel like they are heading in the right direction and Marti does deserve credit for that. I don't think many of our fans are really suggesting he's done anything special.
  10. I think he is learning but trying to give everyone the benefit of any doubt and so is perhaps changing things a little slower than some of us would like.
  11. Vardy's praise is certainly telling. After his exclusion of Rudkin from his other statements he is saying what he can't by omission. But haven't a lot of people within the club spoken highly of Rudkin too? Still, if there was that much tension between Whelan and Rudkin you'd think something would have happened before this. We probably are losing the best and most capable of the bunch, but she was still CEO throughout. She can't be completely exonerated of responsibility because the other 2 are useless.
  12. I reckon most of us are happy enough listening to you rant about what happens now Susie has left when you're 5 pints down with a game of who are you sandwiched in the middle!
  13. Top taking more responsibility is the last thing we need. Tweedle dee and tweedle dum both clearly not going anywhere, how thoroughly depressing.
  14. Fair point, my bad. I didn't realise the polling was quite that bad. I maintain that saying he is hated is a very different thing to polling dissatisfaction though.
  15. Haven't seen it but getting a booking for taking a quick free kick sounds absurd.
  16. I don't really disagree with anything there Trav. Starmer is clearly not popular at all. This government seems to be alienating a lot of their voters and Starmer takes the brunt of that. But I disagree with the notion that he is actively hated anywhere near as much as Thatcher, Boris or Blair. A lot of the criticism of him (predominantly from the right wags) is that if anything, he is boring and vanilla. A lot of people lap that up, personally I think it's nonsense given the buffoons in charge previously but there you go. Politically he is pissing off those who want to see more socially driven policies, but I don't think those more towards the left hate him, they are just frustrated with the direction Labour are moving in.
  17. Most unpopular PM in history? I know the polling is bad but c'mon. What about the woman who half the North of England hate and whose death was celebrated by significant numbers? What about the Labour leader who played a significant part in war crimes and lied about them? What about the man who led a shambolic pandemic response? What about the woman who no-one voted for, who crashed the economy with her first budget within a couple of months of taking office and was then swiftly booted out? Millions of people voted Tory at the last GE just a year or so ago. Plenty will keep voting for them. And just a broader point on polling - I seem to recall most polls having Labour down for a record breaking win. The reality was somewhat different.
  18. Tories done for decades and labour one of the most hated governments ever, are you serious or on the wind up? Pretty sensationalist stuff.
  19. Jesus, what a rough year for the pair of the you. Wishing you both all the best mate.
  20. I would recommend getting a few out to your place, having a chat with them and getting a fee proposal from each. They should be happy to do this for you for free. That way you get an idea of who you're working with and what they're like. A good working relationship really goes a long way with this type of stuff, so don't be scared to ask questions about how they work. You can also then have a good read of their proposals - they should give you a decent idea of what level of information they provide, at what stage and for what fee. Trust me on this, the cheapest is probably not the best option and you may well end up paying them more if there are loads of caveats in there. You want to be going with someone who can take you all the way through from concept ideas to delivery on site also, whether you choose to go down that route with them or not. I'm an architect and learnt my trade on small private resi jobs but don't know any in Leicester.
  21. I don't see why this is required and I think the purported reasoning behind this is questionable. "Because borders" is a wholly transparent narrative which is aiming to capitalise on/fight back against the recent swell of anti-immigration feeling. I don't buy it. If people are here illegally or here legally but working illegally then what does an extra ID do? How will this stop people who are already working illegally and circumventing rules? Our world is becoming more dystopian by the day and every little chip away means something, even though some like the old boot licking "if you're not doing anything wrong why are you worried" line. This is probably a bit of a magnet for sensationalism/over-reaction, but you don't have to a conspiracy theorist buried in twitter non-sense to be sceptical of it.
  22. It wouldn't surprise me all that much if we were mid-table but isn't it a little contradictory saying how crap the league is and that we haven't clicked, but still anticipating us being mid-table..? We were terrible last year and that's obviously massively responsible for people's general feeling, but Marti seems to be doing a good job with the limited resources he has been given. Our squad has a lot of quality that is at the top end of the championship even if it isn't really good enough to sustain it in the top flight. I think in spite of the fact we were here only a year ago, many have forgotten how big the drop off is. Finishing in particular I would say is levels below, you get away with so much defensively at this level that you don't in the PL.
  23. You could absolutely build your own shed or something similar with a few YouTube videos and bits of reading. You could argue something similar with many of these things but that is definitely quite an accessible skill.
  24. Ahhh OK. I'm my phone but in the UK so that'll be why I can't see it.
