  1. Debbie Harry is 78 years old, which sort of makes me glad she turned down my offer of marriage some years back.
  2. One of the greatest players to pull on a Leicester shirt played for 11 league clubs, played in the USA, South Africa, Denmark & Ireland & several non league outfits. Loyal? Not at all. Brilliant, yes. R.I.P. Frank.
  3. Yes, 40,000 Chelsea fans
  4. Since Hampshire's & Coombe's have called it a day, to the best of my knowledge there's only Gregg's in town. Such a shame, you go up to Yorks/Lancs there are several independent bakers, all doing well.
  5. Tete scored a cracker against Villa. I remember thinking, at last, we've signed a Brazilian & he is brilliant. The only game in which he played well.
  6. This thread has a free range to get very silly
  7. The Crown is worth a visit
  8. What is your local? Asking for a friend
  9. The greatest ever Italian. Forever a true legend.
  10. Southampton That means Leeds haven't gone up.
  11. Agreed, there are a few names mentioned that perhaps have not proved themselves over a period of time. The main disappointment is that my name is not in the squad.
  12. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-69037064 Sad news, the Tudor has been empty since 2017, not 2013 as the article states. Spent many a happy hour (no pun intended) in this boozer, always a warm welcome for both regulars & passers by. I made many lifelong friends here over the years, back when people used to go out & talk to each other & whoever they happened to be next to in the pub. One of the best 'Locals' in the City for a long time, this type of pub was ubiquitous in the UK & they are closing at an alarming rate. Opened in 1900, closed in 2017, R.I.P The Tudor.
  13. The only way to solve this problem is simple. Get rid of all the rules & adopt a Hallaton/Atherstone/Ashbourne situation Which is how football began. Far more exciting.
  14. I believe Niall Quinn set the ball rolling on the charity testimonial, he was, if not the first, certainly one of the early retirees who wouldn't take a penny & donated all proceeds to charity. but, as has been mentioned, the clubs cant be bothered these days.
  15. We came out of it naturally the worst Beaten and bloody and I was sick down my shirt We were no match for their untamed wit Though some of the lads said they'll be back next week
  16. That's a dozen trips abroad for us.
  17. One of the reasons most of us started watching football is because it is a simple game that flows. That is no longer the scenario. Players don't want it Managers don't want it Fans don't want it. Get rid, get back to human error.
  18. That ship sailed long ago.
  19. is this the same Ady Dayman who refers to Leicester City as "The Tricky Blues"?
  20. M&S closing in Solihull killed footfall Losing to Bromley seriously damaged football
  21. When Of Fossils & Foxes came out, 1st edition, I bought a copy, took it to reception at Filbert Street & asked if the players could sign it for me. A few days later, collected the book, the whole squad had signed the inside covers. Cost - Nothing. Can't see that scenario happening these days.
  22. This would look great alongside my posters of Che Guervara & the girl with the tennis racket, scratching her bum.
