  1. Is he? His Tottenham team were perennial losers. They won nothing under him with a fantastic squad. Whilst he was manager multiple players were at their peak; Eriksen, Vertonghen, Walker, Lloris etc and they had a high-flying Kane and Alli to boot. What do Tottenham have to show for it? Diddlysquat! Liverpool should have won the league under Rodgers without question. Thank god they didn’t because it birthed one of the game’s best chants courtesy of a certain Steven Gerrard’s arse. But people are quick to forget that Liverpool’s defence and goalkeeper were far off standard that season. Skrtel? Agger? Mignolet? JON FLANAGAN?! Sure they had Suarez and Coutinho at their disposal but I would confidently argue that the 2013/14 Liverpool squad was miles off the standard of Poch’s Tottenham squad. To say Poch is a million times better than Rodgers is to say Anchor is a million times better than Lurpak. It just ain’t so.
  2. Careful you cheeky rascal.
  3. I knew that a Rodger's thread would be booming post-Fulham. Let's be realistic. Before this season started, we knew left-back was an issue. Chilwell, despite not performing (and playing) was an integral cog in our machine. He has gone, and he is booming at Chelsea - best of luck to the lad! Should someone have been signed? Yes. Is Rodgers at fault for that? No. For some time, Leicester's transfer policy has been largely heralded by the backroom and executive staff - a policy that is for the best of the longevity of the club. (Clear avoidance of new manager's wasting money on "their own players" etc.) With Ndidi, Castagne, Pereira and Soyucu out the squad we are not playing at our full defensive ability. Justin, arguably our rotational wing-back is currently playing alongside Fuchs and Thomas, the former a legend past his prime and the latter a young lad at the birth of his professional career. We have been incredibly fortunate that Fuchs played well for a few games, but he has been caught out the last three matches. Additionally, our defensive stalwart of last season Monsieur Evans is struggling this season. He has been caught off-pace and off-concentration multiple times since the international break. While I agree that the performances have not been good enough, I wholeheartedly would argue that the tides of fortune are against Rodgers and the Leicester squad at the moment. We are starting a formerly attacking fullback as a centreback, blooding a young foreign league debutant, dealing with a defensive stalwart's bad run of form, negotiating the lack of our Turkish lynchpin and coping without arguably our most talented defensive-minded player in Big WIlf. All whilst missing our best fullback and missing the second-most significant signing we made in the most recent transfer window. God damn it I will say it, RODGER'S IN. A different night this game could have finished 4-2. Vardy missed a chance, Justin missed a pivotal lay-off and Maddison squandered a few chances with impetuous attacking moves. We were not good enough defensively, but given the current situation and context that is not to be unexpected. One more thing. Something that has really impressed me under Rodgers in every game except the Liverpool match is that the players do not give up. Under Puel, we turned off at the end of matches. I genuinely still believed at the end of that Fulham match that we could still come away with something.
  4. Are Sky Sports lot today completely oblivious to the fact that we also had a lot of injuries? They’re banging on like Liverpool were dealing with a team of second string players. We were and have been missing several integral players. The quality in-depth is much richer with the amount of money invested in their squad. Really pissing me off that they are painting a still very minted Liverpool squad as underdogs! Big team bias and lack of comprehensive analysis is very evident with Jeff’s new mates.
  5. Fat Frank has always been a moaning little fopdoodle.
  6. These adonises were training on the grass yesterday.
  7. Will give it a shot, if I get trash you have to buy some of my many many many Walcotts.
  8. Thought I had a brilliant idea a couple of days ago. I didn’t.
  9. Read that Shakespeare's Head in Southgates was raided this year for cannabis production, a pox upon its house indeed! Big fan of the Rutland and Derby in summer, it has a makeshift outdoor mezzanine. Only downside is its distinct tory clientele, rugby's always on.
  10. If you like Joker / Taxi Driver, give Scorsese's The King Of Comedy a watch. Hits very similar emotional and narrative beats as both films.
  11. The worry is they might starting looking elsewhere if they aren't getting picked by England. I do wonder what the pundits and managers see in Mount. He's a good player no doubt, but Grealish seems to be fantastic. I support Maddison, but I do think at this point in time Grealish is the better player. Maybe the lack of hard-tackling ball-recovering central midfielders is impacting negatively on Grealish, and they see Mount as a player more willing to provide support in the middle-third of the pitch. England lack a defensive spine at present which would enable a more stacked assortment of attacking-minded players. Pickford and Maguire have lost their heads, Keane is solid but not top-class, Coady, TAA and Jomez are injured. With injuries, controversies and arguably bad selection, England lack an established backline. Southgate has been chopping and changing like an indecisive transsexual. The lack of defensive assertiveness, coupled with the lack of top-class English players capable of doing the dirty work in midifield does not set an excellent foundation for players who have a permanent residency and PO box in the final third a la Grealish.
  12. The Rodger's criticism was stupid, and seemingly an exercise in confirmation bias. Team's dip post-Christmas seemed to be largely circumstantial. Chilwell suffering physically (and mentally) coupled with Ndidi and Maddison's injuries. Post-lockdown, the majority of teams looked out-of-sorts. Never thought I'd see the day where Leicester fans are moaning about finishing a PL season 5th!
  13. Alright lads, I've lost my job this week. Any betting tips for this weekend so I can afford Christmas this year?
  14. For free, he would be a banger. His injury doesn't seem to have held him back too much. On the striking front, I'd be quite happy with Celtic's Edouard. Always suspicious of SPL players given the quality of opposition. But he has a good pedigree in coming through PSG's academy, he's young and is a decent height, and has a good strike rate in a below-average Celtic side. Lovely smile too
  15. Best of luck to the lad. Wealth is often misconstrued as being a magic pill for all of life's troubles, but in reality it doesn't cure ills that many of us are familiar with. Having his platform and speaking out about this is an important step in the right direction for normalising the conversation about male mental health. Hope all you FoxesTalkers are doing well in the midst of the awful scenario we currently find ourselves in.
  16. Hopefully he leaves the peroxide blonde at home.
  17. Big Matty Elliott. Apparently smoked a pack of cigarettes the evening before a game. He used to live near me in North Leicestershire when his children were younger. Often saw him driving around tight country roads in a massive Hummer. Was a decent player on the pitch too. Ledge. I tend to believe that a player's performance or talent on the pitch is not the only thing that contributes to legend status. Sometimes the stories that the mere thought of a player conjure up grant an epic otherness. For example, remember Sol Bamba marauding sprints up the pitch from defence? Absolute lad.
  18. JJ is a bit like a pint of Carlsberg. It does the job, but you know there are better options.
  19. If we all chip in, we can pay £20.75 for a personalised video from the lad. Could find out his Spoons order? https://www.cameo.com/filipbenkovic
  20. If we win this, I will donate the goal difference x10 to LOROS. No chance we win this unless I tempt Mother Fate. You're welcome lads.
  21. I am not proclaiming to be 'in the know' here, but I have been privy to some information regarding the wee Croatian. Presently Benkovic has a long-term future at the club. The issue is that he hasn't had enough exposure to first-team football in recent years. His loan to Cardiff isn't a make or break scenario, or an attempt to find him a new home. Rather they want him to recieve consistent playtime, hence the risk with sending him out whilst knowing Soyuncu was unfit; they did not want to take away his opportunity to develop. Given that he is still relatively young at barely 23, I hope that he is given room to prosper. I'd be wary of ruling him out too soon, Thiago Silva was playing for Fluminese at that age.
