I'm not sure there will ever be a time when any football club doesn't have players that are contracted and paid but no longer playing ..... It's just the nature of long term contracts / football.
I think the transition is going well already, and agree we need to give him time to "complete" (that will never happen either) the task!
Nice guy, great loyalty shown by him for the club he loves. For that, and all he's done for LCFC, respect to AK.
I can completely understand him wanting to stay and break into the side - but realistically it's not going to happen so there has to come a point where a footballer wants to play football and not just be around football. The fact he is happy to stick around and not play will be noticed by other clubs and potentially put them off signing him (who'd want someone not driven enough to be unsatisfied at not being played?). It's time to move now and play the game he trains hard at.
It's best for him to move now and rekindle his career before it's over.
I think AM could be one of those players that just didn't "fit" LCFC and that goes on to fulfil his potential elsewhere.
There's no way he was as awful as some make out - the pre-season brace against Barca showed that he could do it - just lacked, maybe confidence, to replicate it often..
I bought a generator from a gypsy in Aldi car park the other day - he wouldn't take less than £400 at the start of the conversation, but he took 150 quid in the end!!!
Possibly the most important signing ever for the club.
Without him there would be no Great Escape, and without that no Premier League Title.
Thank you, Robert Huth
Very true ..... was a pretty awful game ..... But the first start for your potentially new side and you'd think Slim would have been up for it and have plenty to prove
He's quality nd should stroll into the side ahead of James ..... Maybe the reason he hasn't is to "get his head right" after the match fixing news a few weeks ago??
But the reason they are charging and having to take every opportunity to make extra cash is to pay the spiralling ridiculous wages ..... Of a lad that was good at football and likely to be that kid off the Monsell (or the Algerian equivalent).
Whilst those players expect £100k+ a week, expect the people paying it to look for every way to make money to meet those demands.
We won't sell RM because we "don't need the money" immediately... we can wait and watch his value rise further.
None of this do I agree with either - but it's just the reality of paying players £5m a year to play a sport most of us play for free.
