Alan young digs at stringer

I quite liked listening to youngy and he always seems quite passionate about the city but I remember several years ago he was working for notts county when we played them at their place. A mate of mine happened to be sitting near him & was disgusted to see him jump up when they scored against us.

Comes across very bitter there. Comment about Stringer was completely unprompted. I dislike Stringer but listening on the way back would disagree that he was unhappy that we won.

Actually, interesting that the player interviews broadcast on RL are much more enjoyable then the ones we used to get conducted by Stringer. His attempts to be one of the lads were awful, and his sensationalism was misplaced. He needs replacing, but the show doesn't need Young back either.

Can't bear to watch the whole thing, too cringeworthy. As others have said, I haven't been in a position where I've had to listen to RL comms much (only spurs FA cup), but RL need to start fresh next season with someone replacing Stringer. I'd almost prefer it if they were a fan of another club too.

You have to say he's not wrong.  Even if he can't get names right you've got to prefer Young's views on the team to Stringer's any day, however drunk.

I saw Youngy before the game, it was great to catch up with him.

However, I disagree with the 'never played the game' comment

Why who did he play for?

Only in the sense that a broken clock tells the right time twice a day.

Quite and is highly patronising to anyone who pays to watch football live or on the TV.

Are you trying to imply that Stringer isn't a clueless idiot?  It genuinely seems like he hasn't played a game of football before at times.

Stringer is a clueless idiot but it's not because he was never a pro, he is just a clueless idiot

That interview was fcuking cringeworthy. You lost your job. That sucks for you. But GET OVER IT!

Everyone seems to have an opinion on Ian Stringer and they are all entitled to it. But what is he meant to do this season - be uber positive and say that all is well and Pearson is a genius and our players are legends and the club is doing better-than-ever. He would have even less credibility than he does (in some peoples eyes) if he were to act like that.

And all this, "my club" bollox. It's all of our club you idiot.

Stringer's took a gamble this season and it massively backfired. I'm glad he's finally been shown up for the ego maniac that he is.

Alan Young's far from perfect but at least he's more of a genuine type of character even if he is a bit of a dinosaur.

If you listen to stringers last interview with Pearson you will hear he was bang out of order.

I think it's funny what Young said because in a sense it's true... It seemed as if Ian was brainwashed by the Mongols that phone into radio leicester. The last time I tuned into that station someone was calling for the return of Paul Gallagher so he could play centre mid.

That in mind, 100%LCFC should 'sack' Young... He obviously thinks everything he says is gospel because he's been a pro, so he interrupts the people who have more valid opinions than him.

He knows less about football than Jeffery does about playing left back.

100%LCFC would be a lot more listenable if they didn't employ a drunken old man who thinks he's Alan Hansen.

Genuinly full of shit.

His allegiances lie wherever the payday is.

According to Youngy only ex-proffessional footballers can have a valid opinion, quite  patronising to the fans really, but l don't think it was meant to be, he just came across as a very bitter man.
