If we finish the job, what's our aim next season?

All depends who we sign IMO.

Let's go for it...look to get some cracking signings in and really establish ourselves as a Premiership force to be reckoned with.

Realistic goal: Surviving comfortably.

Actual goal: 15th

Investment is needed, and a good clear out.

Can be achieved - once we actually achieve survival of course.

More seriously, I think in natural progression, any place between 11th-14th would be a good season, anything more a great season and 15th-17th an acceptable season, but then wouldn't show much signs of progression. A focus on the cup could help as well. So for me, 12th place and an FA Cup win would be fantastic, though the cup would be a bonus and the League Cup would be good but not quite as impressive.

But for now, let's finish this season in the same vein as recent form!

Continued progress is the realistic goal. We do need a few signings but remember signings don't guarantee success.

Liverpool have spent over two hundred million and are going to finish lower than last year with no silverware. There's still only 3 trophies up for grabs and the premiership is out of reach for now. That only leaves two cups we have a realistic chance of winning.

So I would think mid table is the next step and so on. I also think the Owners have been convinced that you cannot buy success easily, and that steady progress is better and more achieve able.

IF we stay up, still five games to go, surely it should just be ensure we stay up again, with the bonus of being safe with four/five games to go. Think the talk of top 10 is a little too early. Yes some teams do it, but doesn't mean we will, just get ourselves safe again for the new Premier League deal starting in 2016.

Me too. But I don't want to watch Championship football for another ten years thank you very much.

I never said I did. To be honest. I just like winning games. Up til 3 weeks ago that occurred more in the Championship. Basically, once you're promoted the Premiership, (a fantastic feeling especially doing it in our manner) football becomes pretty much pointless for the also rans in the PL. You can have a cup run in any league.

Staying up with a more comfortable season will be fine for me. No twelve match runs without a win and a few really good home performances with plenty of goals. Cup run would be great.

I think some of you are being premature with talk of top 10 finishes. The obvious top 8 plus Swansea, Stoke, Palace, West Ham and West Brom are all looking in better shape than us for top half. If we are staying up this season it wil be by the skin of our teeth.

I just dont get this. I see it written by people and i dont get it, i dont think i ever will.

So everything is pointless because there are better teams than us who are more likely to win the league?

How many Southampton, Swansea fans would label their own clubs seasons as "pointless"?

How many clubs in the whole of English football have a point?

Well soton and swansea aren't going to win anything this season though are they?

I think that's always been my point I've tried to make. The best thing about making it to the PL is the promotion season itself. Sure its great playing United off the park and scaring teams like Liverpool Everton and Arsenal but beyond that now that the novelty has worn off (or will have for me come next season if we stay up) then it all seems a bit pointless.

So the fact that they havent won anything means they should be disappointed with their season?

There isnt a "novelty" to being in the Premier League. We are there on merit, we are rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest teams in the world.

We are trying to grow as a club. Rome wasnt built in a day.

When Leicester achieve the highest level they can do, when they hit the glass ceiling and be the best club they possibly can be, will it all be worthless? is it more worthwhile winning the league below full of inferior teams?

40 points as quickly as possible.

Sensible transfer additions - we're in a great position with loads of dross out of contract in the summer and this will free up the wage budget for some great signings. A good mix of Premier League experience and players with potential in all positions.

Be nice to blood one or two more academy products, get the likes of Chilwell and Cain around the first team.

Decent cup runs.

So what exactly do you want us to do? Finishing as high out of the 92 clubs in the football league is surely the aim of any club else what's the point. Secure prem team and cup runs, signing better players will do me better than hammering teams like Huddersfield week in week out

This.

Teams like Stoke, Swansea, West Ham all look to get to that magic 40 points quickly and then go on from there.

It would be too soon to try and push much further up the league, it has to be done gradually.

Keep the finances on track, pick up a few more gems from other leagues, bring through our academy lads and we'll be looking good for a sustainable future.

I want us to win the PL. Will that ever happen? Not in my life and I'm 28

Providing we stay up then there's not a whole lot of difference between finishing 9th-17th. You're still part of the 'also rans' or making up the numbers.

Not expecting anyone to agree necessarily, I'm just very disillusioned with modern football. Even compared to the PL 10-20 years ago

Imagine a Europa league group of ourselves and...

Sevilla

Slovan Bratislava

Apollon Limassol

Club Brugge

Sparta Prague

Apollon Limassol

CARNAGE.

I know what you mean. We'll never have another run like 96-2000, winning cups and playing in Europe with a pretty tiny transfer budget. Beating the big teams at Filbert Street.

But that's football, unfortunately. Like or lump it. If we don't like it we can always go and watch non league.

Whilst you may think I'm being retarded, that is definitely also a stupid thing to say. Born in LRI, first City game aged 8 etc

No I'm not questioning your support. What I mean is, clubs like Leicester, Swansea, Southampton etc, the best we can hope for realistically is establishing ourselves as a solid prem team, going on cup runs, getting a Europa league place and improving

every year.

Last season was unbelievable and really exciting but we were beating teams we really ahould be beating and that after a while would in itself become boring. I just think we need to compete to our limits and look to see how far we can go.

Each to their own though mate. I do agree with you about being slightly disillusioned by modern football and the influence money has

Sorry, I misunderstood what you were saying.

I know, its probably a reason why I've not renewed to be honest. Amongst other stuff. I'd love us to get into Europe, I'd be the first on the plane. But its just probably easier to do so by winning the cup than it is doing a Southampton
