If we finish the job, what's our aim next season?

And then what? Nothing.

Being in the Prem is pretty pointless until the top 4/6 form a European breakaway league. Or Sky go bust.

Yes I am disillusioned

Me too. But I don't want to watch Championship football for another ten years thank you very much.

Survival again without a doubt, hopefully a little more comfortably than this year. Year 3 is the year to try and really push on.

What's wrong with trying to be the best you can be? Gradually getting yourselves into a place where you can challenge for a Europa league place is surely the aim. Just look at Southampton

Cup runs and Euro pushes, like Swansea and Southampton. We have better foundations than we did in the O'Neil days. New stadium, owners who will seemingly back us and decent supporter base. It's obviously not going to be a cake-walk but done right, top 8 is there for the taking.

Improvement in the league and go for silverware.

Not much else we can do; we're never ever going to challenge for the league.

I honestly think that after this season if we stay up there's a chance that we could finish mid table or higher because I feel we would of learned a lot from this season to take into the next.

Cant believe people make threads like this, could easily come back to haunt us! Maybe im too superstitous haha

I have been at pains to point out 'IF' to be fair. :D

The OP has history of premature threads, I do believe he created one wonderfully titled   'that has to be it. Pearson needs to go'.

Just progression would suit me. If we could more consistently show the sort of performance that we showed against Swansea, and ditch the negative style which has caused our struggle, we'll naturally do better. We'll need to strengthen in the transfer market as well, it's obvious where our weaknesses are, but I certainly think we've underachieved this campaign with the squad we have.

The long term aim must be to win the FA Cup, but spending most of the season (and ending it) out of the bottom 3 would be a step in the right direction.

Personally, I do not think that long term improvement will be achieved with Pearson at the helm.

Soton aren't even definitely going to be in Europe next season yet.

May as well just try and win the cup (also an easier route into Europe than a league finish)

Add 3 or 4 better players, particularly a LB and CB, allowing us to move on to the next level.

And obviously we may have to replace some squad players such as Hammond, Wasilewski etc...

Oh, and sign Esteban for another year.

Despite the continuous criticism from fans (God knows what they expect or want) maintain the level of continuos gradual improvement under Pearson that we have had every year he has been here.

Imagine a Europa league group of ourselves and...

Sevilla

Slovan Bratislava

Apollon Limassol

Personally I'd hope for Ludogorets just so we can play a team with 'Forest' in the name once again.
