stockyfox Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Of the 4 teams that could possibly be relegated, Hull can only muster 40pts. To achieve this, they will need to beat Spurs at White Hart Lane and then beat Man Utd at home. If they win both matches, then we will need to beat Sunderland or QPR. If both the Foxes and Hull finished with 40 pts, the Foxes would occupy the higher position in the table on goal difference if they were the same or the fact that the Foxes have scored more goals. If Hull gain a win and a draw, then the Foxes need only one point to be absolutely certain of staying up. If Hull lose either game, we are safe. If Sunderland beat the Foxes, then we would need to beat QPR. Sunderland's last two games are Arsenal and Chelsea (both AWAY!) Newcastle's last two matches are away to QPR then finally West Ham at home. Make no mistake, Burnley did us a great favour in beating Hull so 'Thank you Burnley' and we wish you all the best next season!
Strokes Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 I feel like we know all this already.I needed it, I haven't been studying the fixtures or table for weeks assessing every possible outcome like some sleep deprived LUNATIC!
Gerard Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 If Hull lose either game, we are safe. Not true. Hull could win one and lose one and still finish above us on goal difference. It wouldn't take a remarkable set of results either.
Guest Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 I feel like we know all this already. Why do you need to make these sorts of comments all the time?
stockyfox Posted 10 May 2015 Author Posted 10 May 2015 Not true. Hull could win one and lose one and still finish above us on goal difference. It wouldn't take a remarkable set of results either. I suppose that is feasible but they would have to inflict something like a 5 - 3 win v Man Utd.........and not many teams can do that! and have a high scoring game like 4 - 3 at Spurs.
Hollism Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 If we lose to Sunderland, our fate could be technically out of our hands. ie- we could lose to Sunderland and beat QPR, and still go down. Have a look at other fixtures to see how ridiculous that would be though

Not really Spurs 0 Hull 2 Sunderland 2 Leicester 0 These results would mean we're behind Hull going into the last game of the season.
NewquayFox Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 No worries, we will beat Sunderland 1.0 and absolutely rape QPR 7.0..... Up the City.....
Gerard Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 We'd still be above on goals scored. Nope, the 2-0 result scenario would leave us on -15 and Hull on -14.
john ridley Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Not really Spurs 0 Hull 2 Sunderland 2 Leicester 0 These results would mean we're behind Hull going into the last game of the season. Apologies your right we'd be a goal behind.
stockyfox Posted 10 May 2015 Author Posted 10 May 2015 We are currently third, behind Arsenal and Chelsea in the PL 'Form' table. Our style is frenetic. We are not just aiming to 'equalise before the other team score, we are aiming to equalise before the other team realise the game has started. This is the best and most exciting team we have had for years - as good as, if not better than the early sixties. I've said all season we wouldn't go down. Keeping the Faith is precisely that and the fact that 'Foxes Never Quit' is seen game after game. I can't wait for next season!
fleckneymike Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Can everyone stop jinxing shit and talking about it. I've been shitting bricks since we beat West Ham and every single win and chink of hope just makes it worse.

Don't visit the forum if it's all too much for you.

I'll switch the radio over, stop watching MOTD, close internet sites if I see/hear sentences about our survival being almost assured.
kingcarr21 Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 Dont forget its not only Hull that need to catch us its Newcastle and Sunderland aswel. I cant see all 3 of them teams making 38 points. (With our goal difference i would say all 3 would need 38 points for us to go down.) Not only would it take us losing both games (i can easily see a draw from at least 1 of them games) it would take the 3 below us to go on a good run. Granted 1 win can change it but will all 3 win. I dont think so. We avoid defeat at Sunderland its job done imo. I think next week Spurs will beat Hull and we will draw 1-1 with Sunderland. The champagne will be flowing and the QPR home game will be 1 massive party with us saying cheerio to QPR all game
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 Hull couldn't score against Burnley with this much pressure on. I really don't think they'll beat Spurs and Man Utd. Maybe one if they're really lucky, but not both.
FrankieADZ Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 as long as we get at least a point on Saturday & Hull lose....i'll be happy.....just hope the form of Hull when they play in May in the Premier league continues as they haven't won a game in May yet in the prem.

We're not the only fans that will be "tempting fate" and we can't all go down. Enjoy your life of not washing clothes on New Year's Day and avoiding cracks In the street, sounds like fun.
foxfanazer Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 I've taken the day off work today just so I can fully come to terms with all of this

You don't really believe that a person writing on a forum has any significant effect on the result of a football match do you? If you do your life must be terrible. There are no such things as jinxes. It's a bit like religion - you can blame bad things or salute good things because of God or Jinxes but then you have to ignore all the other million things not affected. Oh damn, I've just said God doesn't exist - City will never score another goal! EVER!
