You don't even elect your own prime minister.

I'm not sure that's true, I think the majority of people who vote in general elections have no idea of the MP they are voting for and are purely voting for the party and the leader.

Lucky that 24.4% of the electorate voted Conservative then.

Finally decided i'm definitely voting out. Have spent weeks making sure I make an informed decision.

My gf is an EU immigrant and agrees she would vote out if she could.

I've been avoiding this thread because I've made my views clear long ago and don't have the patience to deal with some of the twisted rhetoric from some corners but I thought I'd pop my head in to note something I saw on the motorway just west of London yesterday:  The leave campaign have paid money to put up a banner saying something along the lines of "Turkey is joining the EU; vote leave".  lol Yeah that's definitely happening.

Hi Carl good to have you back in the debate (I think), recently I've noticed lots of banners (well placed) for vote leave and had loads of fliers but seen or heard nothing from remain. Do you think this is a mistake or I'm blind lol

Haven't seen any either, tbh I've only seen that one banner I mentioned as well as one vote leave branded banner where they've clearly sent someone round to replace the home-made signs a crazy person stuck outside their house to tell us the EU is viciously eating all the UK's money, cartoon wolf teeth et al.  Tbf I've only seen leave's tv ad too with their couple of demented builders in a pub/mansion and that hilarious 'NHS waiting rooms will be completely empty if we leave the EU and staff will be much more friendly and caring, also you'll grin your way through illnesses that under the EU currently leave you miserable and coughing' video.  I guess the stay camp decided that the people in charge of the leave campaigning are blatantly insane and don't expect them to sway the public so haven't bothered getting too 'out there' (I think they're probably wrong but then I have a very low opinion of the average public Brit).

Edit: Just watched the remain camp's political broadcast.  Strangely they explain a few things about why they think we should remain in the union rather than making up bizarre scenarios with no explanation for how the EU causes them or why we should be afraid of the thing they're telling us to be afraid of.  It'll never catch on.

I was driving home from Manchester on Friday (M6) and I must have seen as many as 10 vote leave banners or billboards, some as plain as the logo. Hopefully hitting the subliminal ;)

Don't understand why, being in the Europe team for so long, we didn't change own currency to Euros?

Vote leave may have a case here.

I've had several remain letters through my door. It's getting on my nerves! The latest one today with the foreword by "money expert" Martin Lewis.

We secured an opt-out from the Eurozone.

Probably because being 'cool' generally requires the trait of being easily misled instead of thinking for oneself. ;)

I doubt it, we are hardly going to require a visa for holidays in Europe but maybe. They let Syrians in with no bother.

I'm voting out because I fail to see the benefits of paying membership, It favours big businesses and subsides their trade out of our pockets. It makes tax avoidance much easier, it helps keep the non skilled workers wages down. Amongst other things. And think your first ever vote would basically be a vote supporting David Cameron.

Remainers like slow cars and flat chested women.

Probably would go back to having to apply for visas before holidaying to EU countries, the Syrian refugees were all processed and documented as far as I'm aware.  How much membership do you think we pay?  I'm sure small businesses would love the benefits of a shrunken customer base and higher tariffs on international trade and no longer being able to easily employ skilled workers from EU countries - on a similar note I'm sure we all agree it will be great to finally see the backs of the Spanish nurses currently keeping the overstretched NHS barely running in the face of a lack of qualified Brits; once it implodes under the intense strain on its overworked staff we can finally turn to privatised healthcare on a national scale, yay.  I'm not too savvy on tax avoidance so I'll let you explain that one, however I don't know if you noticed but non-skilled workers are being fuched over by our own government and not the basic rights currently begrudgingly afforded to them as EU citizens - drop out and it's a free for all on the poor with the current lot in charge.
