David Hankey Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 What was the point of only being able to redeem your free drinks voucher at just one point? It didn't make sense at all despite the fine gesture.

Matt Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 It was a ****ing joke, was no way i was going to get one before kick off in that massive queue. Why didn't they put them in all the kiosks? Because I believe the other kiosks (The ones either side) are contracted to a company, outside caterers.
brigfox Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 I was first in through 32-37 and looked for my voucher. No one seemed to know anything about when or where. I hung around and hung around for about 30 mins where I was led to believe the vouchers would be appearing. They eventually appeared somewhere else and I ended up in a lengthy queue. Being of an age when beer sits uncomfortably and tries to depart the system quite quickly, I was hoping I could take the bottle away, unopened, and enjoy it later, chilled, at home, after my 3 hour drive. I got to the front of the queue, asked the question - but computer said no. I took a few sips, but reluctantly had to leave the rest. This is not a whinge about free beer and certainly no criticism of the gesture from imo genuinely caring owners. But the voucher arrangements did seem somewhat under rehearsed!
1966fox Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Thank you for the Beer, Nice gesture, thank you, and the flag, and the baldy cap, and the clapper, they don't have too but they do.
Renart Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 It was a ****ing joke, was no way i was going to get one before kick off in that massive queue. Why didn't they put them in all the kiosks? Ummm. You probably would have done as the queue moved really ***ing quickly. No Joke! The queue actually went down really quick Agreed. Saw the queue and wondered if it was worth it and got through it in a quicker time than it would normally take to queue and pay for a beer. I thought it was pretty well done and organized. No pleasing some.
Guest Col city fan Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Who on earth queues for so long to get a free pint of Carlsberg? A free pint of Carling or Stella maybe. A free pint of Theakston's Old Peculiar, for sure. But Carlsberg! Are you so desperate?

foxychik Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Couldn't help thinking it would've been so much easier to hand out the beers on entry maybe from the turnstiles ... Instead of handing out a voucher and then getting in a long queue - just a thought for next time

glenelgfox Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Surprised given Singha are a sponsor that the Thai's don't have a contra deal with them re free beer?
MC Prussian Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Who on earth queues for so long to get a free pint of Carlsberg? A free pint of Carling or Stella maybe. A free pint of Theakston's Old Peculiar, for sure. But Carlsberg! Are you so desperate? Maybe they simply queued because they were thirsty and because they were getting something for free. The queues weren't that long, anyway. You could get that bottle within five minutes or less. And just because it ain't British doesn't mean it's not any good. Besides, have you taken a look at how international our squad has become?
stripeyfox Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 I wouldn't lick Carling off Kate Upton's breasts. I didn't know that was an option... explains the long queue though.
LCFC FOX Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 The queue was long but it went down quickly, took about three minutes
Staffs Fox Posted 26 May 2015 Author Posted 26 May 2015 Yeah I really don't know what the issue is here, It's a free beer so what were people demanding? An ice cold pint of Punk IPA or a perfectly poured Abbot Reserve? It's a nice gesture which we got for free. If you don't like it you've lost nothing, As for the queue I think it took me 2-3 minutes and I got in there at peak time around 2.40. No problems at all, thanks owners
Ollie93 Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Most of it ended up on the floor of L1 concourse anway!
An Away Move Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Anyone arriving after 2:20pm had no chance of a free beer in the main part of the West Stand. The queue was ridiculously long and not moving as fast as some are describing. It was a nice gesture though from the owners. Not grumbling too much (he says the cost of a pint lighter)
gregsy Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Even with the internet.still amazes.me how a lovely gesture .can have negative and even recommendations on doing it better( next time,)! If someone offers to " buy you a drink". You accept or politely decline!!
