Stevosevic Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 West Ham are now 7 points behind Man City with five games to go. They need to beat us tomorrow, a draw is useless for them. So they will come at us which will suit us. Or they'll be extra deflated thinking they can't catch Man City, along with their FA cup exit.
MC Prussian Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 Taken off Facebook - some of the players that once donned the Villa shirt, players that Villa sold or players that left on a free in the past five to ten years: Brad Friedel James Collins Richard DunneRon VlaarAshley YoungJames MilnerMarc AlbrightonStuart DowningFabian DelphChristian Benteke Gareth Barry Olof Mellberg Curtis Davies Nigel Reo-Coker John Carew Gary Cahill Nicky Shorey Martin Laursen Wilfried Bouma Zat Knight Peter Whittingham
Jimothy Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 I doubt very much that Guy Whittingham left Villa in the last 20 years, let alone the last 10.
MC Prussian Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 I doubt very much that Guy Whittingham left Villa in the last 20 years, let alone the last 10. It's the Lerner effect! Original post amended.
Jimothy Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 It's the Lerner effect! Original post amended. I forgot Peter Whittingham was at Villa.
Super_horns Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 We'd be in the bottom 3 but for Gomes! Apart from the mistake against you guys he has been our best player this season.
theessexfox Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 Everything about West Brom makes me a little ill.
Strokes Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 We'd be in the bottom 3 but for Gomes! Apart from the mistake against you guys he has been our best player this season. He is a great keeper that is prone to the odd clanger, a bit like almunia a before him.
theessexfox Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 When was the last time we had nothing to play for? Apart from QPR last season and the matches from Brighton onwards but other than that, we haven't been comfortably mid table with nothing to play for for years, it looks so boring. Villa Palace Southampton Everton West Brom Swansea Liverpool Stoke Chelsea Bournemouth Watford More than half the league with 4/5 games where the result is practically irrelevant.

Palace still have something to play for. Their not completely safe yet, only 8 points ahead of Sunderland with 15 to play for.
ajthefox Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 Liverpool and Southampton will both be sniffing a Europa League spot still too.
Donut Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 The results of those teams will also affect teams who do have something to play for when they come up against each other too. Palace still have something to play for. Their not completely safe yet, only 8 points ahead of Sunderland with 15 to play for. Theyre safe by a mile.
Super_horns Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 45 is the safety mark - we play both Sunderland and Norwich.
MC Prussian Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 45 is the safety mark - we play both Sunderland and Norwich. In a week's time, you'll only need 42 points. I'd say one win or two draws should see you over the finishing line.
Donut Posted 16 April 2016 Posted 16 April 2016 45 is the safety mark - we play both Sunderland and Norwich. You were safe ages ago. Focus on the cup run, would be a magnificent achievement to win the FA Cup, make it happen.
WigstonWanderer Posted 17 April 2016 Posted 17 April 2016 Thought Man City looked scarily good at times, but not sure if that was real or just Chelsea making them look good. Certainly glad that they are all but out of the race. They still have to play Arsenal, so a draw would do nicely, though hopefully all sown up (in our favour) by then anyway. Hopefully Chelsea make more of an effort against Spurs. Didn't look like they were that bothered, and just using the game to give some youngsters a try-out.
FireFox Posted 17 April 2016 Posted 17 April 2016 Liverpool not giving a fuch about the league anymore. Ten changes. A few young players.
m4DD0gg Posted 17 April 2016 Posted 17 April 2016 So onto Arsenal, they are going to tear palace a new one me thinks.
gdl9050 Posted 17 April 2016 Posted 17 April 2016 Cannot wait to hear Claude going on about wenger bringing the lamppost on.
weller54 Posted 17 April 2016 Posted 17 April 2016 Spuds having a good day.. ..hope it's not the same tomorrow!
FireFox Posted 17 April 2016 Posted 17 April 2016 Arsenal officially out of the title race... since they lost to Swansea a month and a half ago.
gdl9050 Posted 17 April 2016 Posted 17 April 2016 Palace can win the FA cup I reckon. Gaining momentum at the right time
