With the season gone here's another talking point we could use on FT with the summer approaching

Weighing 82kg at 175cm on 15% after a shambolic attempt at bulking, I need to get down to 8-9% by the end of July which shouldnt be too difficult. What's everyone summer targets?

Useful sites:

Calculates the calories you should be eating day in day out based on body stats and weekly fitness routine, including macros.

Based on calculations above you can sort yourself a diet based on calories/macros/dietary requirements.

I'm cutting atm, my mate just got back from uni so we are both training. Currently doing a push pull split.

Good thread idea mate.

I am not sure what you mean or how you measure those percentages, but I am off at 7pm to do one hours circuit training at Leicester Uni on Manor Road.

A killer at my age, but my goal is to last another year playing competitive football. Not easy with the copious amounts I eat and drink. If I can last til the final whistle, make a meaningful team contribution, score a few goals and let the opposition know I am around, those are my goals. Currently 87k, would like to get down to 80k, but ain't losing any sleep over it.

Push / pull split is good

My target is to go to the gym more than once a week.

Used to be there religiously, but since I started working, just haven't had the time.

Going to try and get down to around 10-12% by the end of July. Should be easier now the football has finished!

What's everyone's fave lift? Mine is deadlifts cos they are so badass.

Also like pull ups but my hands are ****ed from them.

Not a fan of the deadlift gotta say. Pull ups are okay unless they're wide grip, which are my nemesis. Chest press is probably my favourite.

I'm clean bulking I guess. Weigh about 76kg at 6'1 and just gradually putting on muscle - prefer to keep the fat down and slowly build muscle rather than bulk and have my weight balloon.

Probs the one in John Lewis imo, can't knock the primark one either tbf

Deadlifts/sqauts. King for anything, whether it be putting on weight or losing it.

Pull ups and dips personal favourites though!

Just got a set of dumbells the other day.  Don't really do any particular routine, just sit there doing random reps while I'm watching TV till all the muscles are tired.  Horrific practice I know, I'm not really in it to get stacked though, just wanna be able to carry the shopping into the house tbh.

Bashed out some deads today, hit 1RM PB after not training for a few months. at 100kg at the mo, planning below 90kg by the end of August.

I've been going since February - putting weight on is a lot harder than I thought for someone with my body. My arms are the only things I'm struggling to see a lot of difference in, though my mates say they have improved. I manage to match my mates on weights for arm exercises, just feel like it's taking an age to see any improvement.

You need to make sure you are eating enough and getting enough protein to see any gains.

I'm definitely eating a lot more than I used to. Having protein once a day too. Maybe I just expected them to grow faster

You need it more than once a day. Every meal has to be protein based in some way, then you have (good quality) protein shakes to top it up even more.

Get plenty of meat, fish, peanut butter, oats, cottage cheese etc into your diet. From your previous post I guess you're on the slim side so just eat eat eat. People underestimate its importance.

Always toyed with the idea of joining the gym, say every month im gonna join. Gotta be honest and say im too scared of being judged by all regulars there though.
