CosbehFox Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015/05/30/watford-poised-to-pip-leicester-to-signing-of-bremens-sebastian/ Watford set to beat us for the signature of Sebastian Prodl. We were interested last summer and he chose not to renew at Werder. I always suspected we held our interest but that's not to say we decided not to follow up. Bit of a utility man, defensive midfield as well as centre back.
MPH Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 If he's on a free then he's probably going to go to whoever pays him the most...
sylofox Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 If he thinks going to a managerless club is a good move good luck to him. Sure a club with a manager that wants him has to be better or have I missed something and they have a manager?
sylofox Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 If he's on a free then he's probably going to go to whoever pays him the most... You think Watford could out do us on pay? If they have god help them if they go down.
Super_horns Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 Doubt we would pay that much. The Pozzos and their network tend to do the signings and the manager just gets what he is given to work with in the main. Hasn't come from the most reliable of sources it has to be said but we'll see.
Guest Cujek Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 You think Watford could out do us on pay? If they have god help them if they go down. No, but they most likely felt the need to offer more, we need better than this anyway
MPH Posted 31 May 2015 Posted 31 May 2015 You think Watford could out do us on pay? If they have god help them if they go down. Of course they could. If they wanted to...
Bryn Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 My feeling is average at Bundesliga level and versatile would be a useful addition.
Ashley Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 'Utility player' ie. Shit in every position. James Milner us a great exampl of a utility player.
Guest Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 James Milner us a great exampl of a utility player. Or better still the young Jeffrey that everyone and his dog want (apart from some City supporters!!!)
Marky mark Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Signed a five year deal with Watford today Skysportsnews
Super_horns Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 5 years? No wonder we didn't fancy it! Does seem a long one doesn't it! Mind you the Pozzos give that length of contract out (even to our youngsters) Half suspect its so if it didn't work out here they can buy him for Udinese/Granada but hopefully it will!
J.Lisemore Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Lets face it, if we wanted this guy, we would have got him. 5 years .
Sharpe's Fox Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Giving a 5 year contract was almost as stupid as giving Lloyd a 3 year one.
harrowhorn Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Giving a 5 year contract was almost as stupid as giving Lloyd a 3 year one. Why? We'll sell Dyer to Brum, and we paid, what was it? And if this fella doesn't work out for us, I'm sure he'll fit in at Granada or Udinese. or we sell. And we've paid, how much was it?
queensguardfox Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 signed for watford REAKING NEWS Watford have signed Austrian international Sebastian Prodl on a five-year deal. The defender was a free agent after turning down a new contract with Werder Bremen and appeared in both the Champions League and the Europa League during his seven years at the Weserstadion. He has 49 caps for his country and represented them at the European Championships in 2008.
Super_horns Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 5 years! Why? Pozzo model - most of the players we have signed and even youngsters have signed deals like that.
